What Happened to Mega Man Universe?

I was really looking forward to this game, despite the criticisms. Anyone else?

after the cancellation of mega man legends 3 and the disastrous development of mega man universe & mighty number 9, i'm convinced that inafune has the most biggest ego in the entire video game industry

i remember getting disappointed when this got cancelled. oh well, mega man maker leagues better anyway

Sad to see a franchise with so much potential and flavor fall on the floor and get dragged off by rats.

They could of done alot with the MegaMan series. I don't understand how they could of missed it. It could of been a metroidvania looter game. The loot could change your reployed appearance, attacks ect. With physical attacks, projectile, attacks and, melee weapon style moves. Then you have a the pve side where you can do daily missions to get upgrades and, loot then a pvp side as in all out fight against other reployeds trying to upgrade them selfs. Even the story could of been interesting. The humans are gone extinct and, the machines are fighting each other to become strong enough to create a new world. Or try to help play a role in using cloning tech to bring humans back to life or something along those libes

Megaman. Rockman. It’s 2D Mario platforming is still going to this day. It’s like tic tak toe. It never gets old. Draw ✍️ 8 wacky bad guys and you got yourself a new game 1000s of hardcore fans will slobber and cum over. I should know. I was one of them. 😅

I've been a gamer since the Atari days. And I've been a Capcom fan since early Capcom arcade games. But I have to admit, I've never been a megaman fan.

It's ironic. They didn't like Inafune's push, but globalization is the very thing they do now.

Halo Mega Man was some weird ••••. Like a Toonami intro with 3D Moltar.

You can't talk about Megaman, Mighty No. 9, Inti Creates and not mention Azure Striker Gunvolt! You need to make an episode on the series!

Imagine if Nintendo reboot Mario and make a new Mario games that art style just like Marvel comics and run in 30fps, that is so weird.

An open world mega man game would have been amazing. They really dropped the ball. Mega man always had potential to be on mario level. In my opinion. Mega man always looked so cool, felt like they always did bare minimum

You should be aware that mega man 9 was released in 2008 and mega man 10 in 2010 for the WII.... both games had the retro 8 bit NES style like the first 6 games.

How many FPS does MegaMan X run at? That is the perfect amount of FPS.

I loved the NES Bionic Commando and wanted a 3D version to be amazing. I never tried it when it came because everyone hated it.

I have however played Doom Eternal and the meathook mod for the super shotgun made me feel like Bionic Commando 3D could work if the gameplay was as fun as using that meathook is. You can whip yourself around with it just like a bionic arm. If the meathook could target solid objects it would be exactly like what Bionic Commando should be.

I hate that "global audience" crap, people love/d Japanese games for decades specifically because they where Japanese.

Now look at most all the current Japanese gaming studios, pumping out bland grey sludge just like everyone else in the world... chasing that lowest common denominator that's not even real and only exists as some idea that people think is real (usally marketing / politics pushing) people.

I don't see how they couldn't get it to run at 60fps. Asset-wise, it looks like it could run on a PS2. Art style choices aside, there doesn't seem to be much going on visually that would make the target consoles struggle to run it smoothly. Unless the engine was so poorly constructed and badly optimized.

On a personal opinion note: MegaMan looks spindly and stick-like in that trailer.

It seems like he took his Japanese title: "Rockman" too literally. Put down the pipe Rockman, it's killing you.

This was the Japanese version of someone going "woke."

I would have rather had this than Mario Maker, tbh.

Capcom is not the one i knew during the 90s era. I am outraged when i bought street fighter v champion edition. Thinking it was a definitive version i got, i was disappointed to play a vanilla flavor.

Megaman Legends 3 would have been awesome esp. with the Trone Bone game, it sad that it was cancelled.

I am not a real gamer so easy western games look kinda appealijg to me.
I also really like japanese games such as ELDEN RING, MONSTER HUNTER and GUILTY GEAR. But i will rarely buy games.
Meanwhile my 100 other friends who are real gamers will 100% buy all of the japanese ones saying "it's because of how rewarding they are" or something like that.

Original Mega Man games are some of the best games ever.

How ironic then that Mega Man 11 became the best selling Mega Man game ever and that Mighty No. 9 became one of the most infamous flops in video game crowdfunding.

Megan man need to keep its roots as well as classic graphics. It's not a game that needs fixing just more levels and baddies

Movement felt stiff....its megaman. If it would get stiffer, megaman would dont move at all xD.

With all this context, Mighty Number Nine's many failures are a lot less surprising.

From everything I've heard and read is making Inefune was super egotistical. He has all these big grand ideas but has nothing to back them up. Literally everything he's done has been a flop.

I haven’t watched this channel in about a year but man I love seeing all the content. This one caught my eye and now I’m gonna binge all the other videos you put out. I will always enjoy the effort you put into these and the stories you tell.

Before watching the video: Inafune. Definitely Inafune. There's no way it's not Inafundme.
After the video: I knew it. No one man can tank an entire franchise to now more than a decade of mediocrity like Inafune can.

I always wanted a MegaMan Game which would combine all classic MegaMan Bosses and Powers.
