Very cool Kory...great how to, I'll use this tips if and when I ever get to it. I'm sure ballasting will still suck lol...Thank You Tom
ОтветитьExcellent video Cory,I'm glad your getting rid of those ugly switch machines,I know it's a pain, because you'll have to cut holes through the table to run the linkage for the switch machine throws, but it will be worth it in the end when your done, especially if they are slow-mo switch machines.
ОтветитьGOOD SHOW Cory, like the way you do it makes it look easygoing, but all do, you made it look even easier, like the spoon technique too as it does make the ballast pack down to show the ties better....thanks for sharing....Jack
ОтветитьLooking great all Nice work
ОтветитьIt is not my favorite to do on my layout, but looks good and well explained. Thanks for sharing....Remco
Ответитьlol i like ballasting, very meditative and peaceful. It's the wiring that i hate to do, probably from having been a network tech and having done tens of thousands of ethernet splices and crimps, just totally over the "stupid dam wires why are you twisting like that!?!?!" experience. I like the soldering of electronics, it's just the stripping wire ends and crimping connectors and especially running wires through framing, really dislike that part.
ОтветитьLol ballasting isn't that bad, just have to be patient.
ОтветитьHey Kory i still prefer to watch you Ballast than to do it myself .Great Editing was enjoyable to watch
ОтветитьThis was very good. My favorite beverage is coffee. Not always a good idea when working with N scale. Thank you and take care... Paul.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, i like your desert tame
ОтветитьAwesome. New sub.
ОтветитьDude...wtf are you using atlas turnouts? Build them, or get micro engeneering code 55. Always use code 55.
ОтветитьBro your shit is tight. Total insparation dude. I cant wait to start my layout
Ответитьhey cory great job but which do you do first the glue or the alcohol? Gary
ОтветитьKory-That was a great how-to! I like the bragdon powders too!
ОтветитьGreat Video. I agree, it still sucks!
Ответитьtip when ballasting switches cover the switch with tape and mask off the points and hinges so you don't get ballast, glue, or paint on them. also Don't Place Ballast Near the Control Rod if you place anything here you will gum it up and you will have to replace the switch with a Dremel which you don't want to do.
ОтветитьI sure liked the way you did that! Found it helpful for the future. Mr. B.
ОтветитьHow come you didn't paint the tracks Before laying it down?
Ответитьhas anyone tried this technique on unitrack. seems doable with a lot less ballast necessary.
ОтветитьThanks - great video.
ОтветитьNot sure I agree that Ballasting Sucks, I find it to be one of those therapeutic tasks that is a great relief to get your mind off a stressful day in the Office or perhaps other stressful things. When I was into N, rather than Alchohol to damp the Track prior to Glue I used a spray of Water with a drop or two of Washing Up Liquid. Do you have Fairy Liquid State Side? If so ideal. I also use Builders PVA mixed 50/50 with Water and another drop or two of Water. Though when applying the Glue it is a Milky Mess it all dries pretty clear with a slight Green Tinge to the Ballast which will disappear with your Ballast Weathering Techniques. Another thing I have been doing is to lightly oil moving parts on points prior to the Glue as it stops the points being glued up. A point you glossed over in your otherwise super informative vid.
ОтветитьYou are funny as hell! Great video.
Ответитьi did exactly what he told me to do and that is subscribe
ОтветитьI had a train set when I was young and played with my match boxes with it . I don't have any train sets now but here I sat watching this....LOL. Looks good.
ОтветитьGreat ballasting informational video. I'm currently working on my N scale coffee table layout and ballasting the track is next.
ОтветитьDo,you mind if I copy this way to do this?
ОтветитьDitto on Gary's comment
ОтветитьMore energy in ur tone will go a long way in getting more veiwers
Ответитьlove the cracked highway actually....good job man.
ОтветитьGood stuff bro!! Easy to follow too.
ОтветитьI'm making a new layout and im kinda new to creating one from scratch. What type of track do you use?
ОтветитьGreat layout how'd you do you roads?
ОтветитьHey, Great video and instructions! Question... did I miss a part where you 'glue' the ballast? Should it have been between Iso propol and leave it to dry?
ОтветитьWe love how you inserted some humor into the ballast process. “Patience” not sold in stores, but an essential ingredient. Very clever! Well done! We just added your link to our iN-structional Library, hoping to increase your traffic.
ОтветитьNow that's the way you do model railroading. Very cool
Ответитьhi
Ответитьnice ballast job i will invite you to my ballast party.
ОтветитьAll these years later, I found your channel. Good show!
ОтветитьFunny you say people do not like ballasting. I enjoy ballastnig track. Also love painting track.
ОтветитьLoved the informative video. My friends said my ballasting was great but I don’t think as good as yours. I am starting to add a few of your features. On another matter the SD70ace at the end looks like a KATO and if it is what sought of sound decoder is in it? Hard to walk into a hobby shop here in Australia and check out the different types so need to order from the US and want to make sure I get good ones. Regards, Richard.
ОтветитьIs that Code 80 or Code 55? Was thinking of switching from unitrack to flextrack and I love the way yours looks.
ОтветитьYou should some fresh ballast in random spots alone with some small green weeds here and there on the rails
ОтветитьThanks Cory from UK. Enjoyed the vid. Gonna get some track pens. Keith
ОтветитьNice. Thanks.
ОтветитьHey new subscriber here! I'm building basework for a new N scale layout. Your roads look great, all of it does! What street/road product did you use. I'll look for a video in your library.
ОтветитьMaking an N scale rail yard with a beautiful slab of redwood and never made a layout past connecting track so I have no knowledge of how to ballast yet I have everything I need. Watched this twice and I already know exactly how to do it. It is all of my late uncle's stuff and while I don't have room for a layout I would love to make a display so TY.
ОтветитьWhere do I find good N scale Vehicles for my model
Ответить
