Durga Pratima Visarjan, also known as Durga Idol Immersion, is the concluding ritual of the Durga Puja festival. Durga Visarjan involves the immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga, along with her children (Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya), into a water body. This ritual usually takes place on the tenth day of the festival, which is known as Vijayadashami or Dussehra.

Before the immersion, elaborate rituals, prayers, and aarti (worship with lighted lamps) are performed in front of the idol. Devotees gather to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga and to witness the final farewell ceremony. Upon reaching the water body (such as a river, lake, or pond), the idol of Goddess Durga is gently immersed into the water. The immersion symbolizes the departure of the goddess and her family to their divine abode and marks the end of the festival. Devotees believe that the goddess leaves behind her blessings, bringing peace and prosperity to the people.
