I love seeing a simple naming scheme. I hate seeing naming schemes which seem to be ashamed of giving the entry/base tier a name at all. That's not a scheme.

So the base laptop is just called Dell. Great work, Dell 🎉

Just focusing on the naming, yesterday Linus hated everything AMD was naming but if it's sponsored all makes sense...

I personally just really wish the Pro Max 16 Premium could still retain one legacy USB A port. Otherwise on the surface it looks to be the perfect upgrade from my XPS 9570

I spend over a million a year with Dell, this is confusing.

I haven't been into computer stuff for the last year or so and I feel like it's been two decades. Every freakin' naming scheme of every freakin' component has changed.

Why do manufacturers always prioritize Intel first? At this point in time, they should prioritize AMD

Framework is starting to get some competition, they're going to have to better justify their $2k pricetag

I think it is hilarious how the "Pro Max" branding makes so much more sense in this product category.. what professionals are relying on specifically an iPhone Pro variant over a regular one or just something else entirely

Finally, I have been waiting for camm2 memory on mainstream laptop (well dell pro max is not exactly premium but I'll buy it used 5 years from now)

I was wondering, are they using dell silicon? Can I use the laptops with my dCloud account and with my dPhone?

Possibly unpopular opinion Dell should drop the Alienware brand name, it hasn't actually been Alienware for 24 years.

My optimal laptop company:
Really just want 3 laptop skews with two sizes each.

Intel/Ryzen 5, 7, and 9. Each with 14 and 16 inch options. 7 and 9 get optional GPU upgrades. Get rid of mobile i3s/r3s since they’re pointless when something lightweight like a chrome book exists.

The 14 inch screens get QHD. The 16 inches get UHD. We’re at a point where battery and chip efficiency should realistically be enough for these resolutions and help the laptops compete more with the likes of Apple, where even their worst laptops have really solid looking screens.

Storage options should have 1TB SSD across all models with a second slot for an extra m.2 with easy upgrade access.

I really think that could be so much more streamlined.

And by making it so the worst cpu is a modern i5/ryzen 5, companies like dell will be much closer in performance to Apple where even their worst M4 laptops are extremely powerful. M4 still craps on most i5/r5 mobile chips but at least we won’t have $700 windows laptops coming with an i3.

The changes are great. But man, why does it always have to be a name combination of "Pro", "Max", "Premium", "Ultra", ...? Lineup names like "Inspiron" or "XPS" are so much nicer.

As the IT tech who is now responsible for placing our bulk order this year for laptops, this was a very exciting video 😅 perhaps that means the nicer Precision laptops we were planning on ordering will be even cheaper

Finally some useable Dell notebooks again after the XPS catastrophy they produced before!

Honestly this makes the most sense to me. Why confuse the technologically inept even more with naming schemes. Make it easy for them to choose the right PC. I’m all for this

Easy to understand ? What in the name of the lord is a Dell Pro Max Premium ? Dell and AMD's marketing team are utterly incompetent.

I can't believe how bad the I/O is on the Dell Pro Max 16. No USB-A, no ethernet, no dedicated power jack. Three USB-C, one of which is probably going to be occupied by the power source. My Precision 7760 from three years ago has 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt), 3x USB-A, HDMI, Mini-DP, SD card reader, combo headphone jack, ethernet, and dedicated power.

For all the people saying USB-A is old or whatever, it's just better to have more ports. It's not like Dell are replacing the old 3x USB-A/2x USB-C scheme with 5x USB-C. They just took away ports, and make you buy a dock or dongle for access to anything beyond the bare minimum.
