as someone who comes from a family of rich military history im crying this is not what my family has fought for my dad has been a cop for 20 years putting his life on the line every fucking day his cousins went to war in the gulf my grandpa is a vietnam vet my great uncles a ex marine my great great uncle died liberating france in ww2 my great grandfather stormed the beaches of okinowa and iwo jima as well as the winters of north korea in the 50s my other great grandfather and uncles did the same and lots of people in my family before that all of what ive just listed is only the tip of the iceberg and as someone who wants to either be a marine or a navy seal im ashamed of the world i live in
