if you have an engine hoist and no lift just take the engine out do the clutch, its way easier than crawling around on the ground and wrestling with the transmission

The best choice would be to get an IS300, manual swap it, turboswap it, remove as much weight as u can, coilovers, wheels, tires and u'll have a cheaper, more reliable and much faster car than this!

Not really cheap, to be fair. These can be had for £2500. They're old and crusty.

the E36 would have come with 300+ bhp and with a much better chassis and especially, weight distribution.

Colin Furze did a psycho version of this on a show called FFF years ago. He stripped down every bit of body work in the end and just had a rollcage wrapped in clingfilm. He took out all the exhaust, pipes. It was so loud.

Don't buy mods that don't do anything like the steering wheel, every mod you buy should improve something to the cars performance

Tyres, suspension and sway bars should be the first mods considered. Shed as much weight as possible and do any legal chassis stiffening. Then think about power.
