RHDV2 virus killed almost all the jackrabbits where I live. December 2020 there was dead jackrabbits and cottontails all over in the fields I've been hiking since 1985 . In the western Mojave desert. Near the towns of Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley, Little Rock, Pear blossom, Lucerne Valley, El Mirage, and Pinon Hills California

RHD is likely caused by manmade electromagnetics, including your WIFI, cell phones, and that sent from 5G satellites. EMF can activate viruses. Find Arthur Firstenberg to learn more. Read "The Invisible Rainbow".

"morally" and "ethically" you dont have a right to raise any "live stock" or rabbits or animals for home steading. perhaps you should realize this. this is insane.

They are spraying over us with chemicals killing us and livestock you should pray over your farm for protection from God and all would go well. And you need to feed them organicly as should you eat organicly cause they are killing us in the so called food supply. Best wishes dont give up.

This is one thing I'm afraid of happening to our rabbits. The problem is, our bunnies are a special breed we created that's highly intelligent and highly spirited, and they don't fare well in cages at all. We've always raised them colony style in giant enclosures, or just free roaming, because they won't have kits otherwise.
They have huge litters when raised in lots of space, and we just keep them tame by regular feeding and petting, and they seem to know where home is and don't try to run away (which is unheard of for rabbits we read, at almost all rabbits will wander away).
We don't have wild rabbits in our area thankfully, as I think that's the only way they contract this if I'm not mistaken. But I'm scared that someone coming to pick up an animal could always bring it in on there shoes, as areas only a few hours away from us are booming with cottontails.
We've just gotten lucky that idiots haven't culled the predators here yet, so there's not much threat of this disease yet by direct cause, but people bringing it are a concern. So we no longer allow strangers to come visit our farm, and we usually meet them down the road to give them animals.
Our special rabbit is an old doe named Fae (because she reminds us of the Fae folk from Irish legends). She's the feistiest, most mischievous little bun you'll ever see, lol. I'm so sorry about your boy :(
We lost our favorite buck too, but to deliberately cruelty by a previous roommate instead of disease (don't worry, my friend beat the ever loving crap out of them for it after we called the police. Still looking for the fucker, but he's not around our animals anymore at least). He was Fae's mate and lead buck to all the other rabbits. After he was gone she was depressed for a while and the colony's hierarchy broke down for a while. His name was demon, which is ironic because he was actually very sweet lol. He just looked intimidating because he was huge and solid black. He was a rex mix too, and very gentle.

Same thing happened to my male Rex in 2020. 2020 was a hellish and sinister year for humans and rabbits alike. I live in southern California and basically live at the black peg on the map shown in the video. The wild rabbits that hang out in my yard must've given my rabbit the "Bunny Ebola". I first assumed the heat from the summer's inferno killed my rabbit but I soon knew it was the Bunny Ebola when I saw dead wild rabbits around my town. Looks like the wild rabbit population bounced back cause they seem to be common again. It was a sad situation and I share your pain.

It's a huge shame that this disease made you unable to raise, kill and consume more delicious bunnies :( I hope things get better in the future.

Good. Your enclosures are sad for rabbits. Too small. Way too small.

Tell me ? Did you see drones hovering over your land and neighborhood. I believe the drones were govt spraying disease to starve us and a lot of people died with drones hanging in the sky. One fell and almost hit a farmers truck but stopped right before it hit

A little bit of salt water, then some fresh water 35 minutes apart then add liquid copper or coloidal silver to the next batch of water supply.

If u raise them again.
Don't get emotionally attached to animals you're raising to eat, they aren't pets and keep it that way.
If they get sick and it's something you can't remedy at home with amprollium, olive oil/teatrea oil or tylan take em out back and put down.
Don't get fancy/pet grade lop eared rabbits, get New Zealand whites and/or californias.
Keep in suspended modular style wire cages, no ground contact.
Good luck!
