+ Heidi Montero -- got to sell that ruler
ОтветитьLove this

ОтветитьThat block is darn ugly! Why beige in the center instead of red? And why the flowery print instead of the polka dot? The pattern is lost with all these clashing fabrics. Minus 10 for the poor fabric choice and stupid talk.
ОтветитьWhat an irritating person! I'm afraid, I can't watch this.
ОтветитьI like her. What I don't like is the pop ups on the bottom of her screens. It blocks the work for me.
ОтветитьThis method does not seem as efficient to me as others I have seen, but excellent for a beginning quilter, and I love Mary's style!
ОтветитьMary needs to be more professional and not so much flapping her arms. She is a charming person but I do believe this would have been better if she let the guest do the cutting with the rotary cutter. BTW I use my rotary cutter to eliminate my dog ears. This was definitely about the ruler not making 1/2 square triangles as chain stitching squares is much faster.
ОтветитьMary is a breathe of fresh air. She is such a happy person. I would love to quilt with her. it may take longer but look at the fun we would have. Keep up the great work.
ОтветитьOMG to much talking!
ОтветитьI can't believe all the negative posts here. We all have a right to our opinions, but if you don't like this style of video, then just don't watch it. Why torture yourself? I like the silliness, but I can see how others may not. So if you don't like it, then don't watch it!! I watch a lot of quilting videos, and there are many that I dislike, so I just click off. Stop whining and start sewing!
Ответитьlet your guess speak more
Ответитьhow about doing a half square triangle as a dogtooth trim
Ответитьhow about doing a quarter half square trianle foe a dogtooth trim show the cutting and the sewing
ОтветитьI'm a rookie quilter and I find the quilting videos helpful. Mary is enjoyable to watch because she has a sense of humor. Many quilting videos are so deadly serious you'd think quilting was about reading the tax code or analyzing statistics. It's not. Quilting is an art, a hobby, a joy, a diversion, a pastime. Keep making your videos, Mary. Many of us find them helpful, and you can't please everybody all the time.
ОтветитьThis video has a LOT of blah blah blah to get through to get to the actual instruction I think.
ОтветитьLove this video. Fun is good ppl. Stop being so stuffy!
ОтветитьI love Quilty and Mary is a great teacher. can't believe ppl post stupid stuff. haters gonna hate and you have a choice to watch or not. I've watched a lot of quilting videos as I learned through these videos. why comment if you don't have anything useful and or encouraging to say?? why? all you ppl that have commented negatively. shame on you. I pray for you actually. I'm like is this for real?? it may be even competitors just trying to hate. but still why do that? Missouri star, Fat Quarter shop and all those women and great ppl are doing us a favor. gosh! ungrateful people out there and I can imagine how horrible their lives are because you just don't do that. momma didn't teach ya? if you don't have anything nice to say. .... Don't say anything. ok full grown ladies. God bless you all and hope your life gets better.
ОтветитьNot sure how my name got referenced by Janette Terry, but just want to say we all have different learning styles and levels of quilting experience and abilities and respond to people differently. Watch the videos who speak to you. Don't watch the ones you can't learn from. It is easy....watch or don't.
Ответитьomg. The comments tho. It's only 8 minutes. thanks, I appreciate your thoroughness. been sewing for 20+ years. never sewn a quilt. This helped me.
ОтветитьIf I had not already drank the quilty koolaid in the 90's this video might make me want to find a cup! lol Love Mary!!
ОтветитьGlad to know this faster way. I am archaic cutting each triangle. Ugh!
Next time I will do this. Teaching myself how to quilt.
This video is a huge waste of time!
ОтветитьI found this tutorial annoyed the hell out of me, what with the constant banter which isn't even funny and the labels coming up on the screen. Quilting is fun yes but if you're going to teach then please do it in a serious manner...
ОтветитьTie that gal's hands.
ОтветитьGheeeze, get on with it already. To much mouth with no useful info. I'm out of here. Didn't watch whole video, and not planning on visiting this site again.
ОтветитьI found the volume very low. Is it only me? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Sometimes it takes a lot of techniques to find the one best for me.
Ответитьtoo much talking. No mention of the size she made of the half square. Did not explain the positives of the ruler. Waste of my time
ОтветитьI was surprised with some of the comments. I love Mary. Enjoy her videos.
ОтветитьWow this method is very easy my daughter
ОтветитьI can understand why she no longer makes videos. To have so many people talking about how much they dislike her would crush anyone.
Ответитьyou guys talk way to much....just get on with teaching.
ОтветитьAnyhoo....can you please tell me the name of the quilt hanging behind you, thanks :)
ОтветитьNot a fan of this lady...blah blah blah
ОтветитьI have read the negative comments and I have to admit there are times when I feel irritable and I watch a video it may rub me the wrong way. However, it's ONLY an 8 minute video! For pete's sake! Sometimes we can be so critical we miss the happiness we could share. If it were a 30 minute video with 20 seconds of value at the end I could see complaining. But eight minutes is short and Mary does teach a lot of info. I miss her being in the videos. Her personality is my cup of tea though because I like her sense of humor. Quilting is about fun and love and puppies and sunshine and laughing. Not root canals and enemas and muscle cramps and IRS notices. Sometimes we need to just chill out with criticisms because when you're producing something THAT IS FREE, and people gripe non stop about what you're doing, it's no longer a joy to do.
Ответитьİyi geceler bide türkçe açıklasalar anlayacaz
ОтветитьThis woman loves to hear herself talk
Ответитьtotally nutty but informative!!
ОтветитьI thought she was gonna teach her the strip rude method... Which works better bc it already stitched when you cut it.
ОтветитьSoooo funny AND inFormative! I was actually drinking a glass of wine while watching this LOL
ОтветитьMary, I love your humor and I think you add a lot of fun to quilt making
ОтветитьToo much nonsense talking not enough showing
ОтветитьI find Mary quite refreshing in her style. Many videos that quilters do can be quite boring. She brings life into her work! Good job!
ОтветитьIf you don't care to hear the chattersewing starts at 5.48 still a good bit of chatter but she finally gets on w the project
ОтветитьI can hardly 🙉 I'm out!
ОтветитьI use a rotary cutter for quilts and garments now. I use the scissors for mostly small work or cleanup work.
ОтветитьI remember when I only used scissors, too. Made my first quilt with scissors. Second quilt, was instructed by Eleanor Burns to tear the fabric on straight of grain for a log cabin quilt. Both of these quilts were constructed in early 1980s. I remember when I first saw the cutting mat, rotary cutter, and rulers— was FASCINATED and fell in n love ever since. Do we know who invented this method of cutting?
ОтветитьVery cute.
ОтветитьWell, I know this was 10 years ago, but there are faster ways to do that. And I use a rotary cutter to cut off the dog years. Goodness gracious why would I pick up scissors to do that?
And there are rulers now like that Tucker trimmer that make it super fast to square up your half square triangles and cut off the dog ears at the same time and yes, with a rotary cutter
Great explanations❣️Enjoy how you present..takes the hesitations out of trying too hard❗️Great teacher❤️THANK YOU 🥰Janet
