Amazing resource! Thanks for putting this together!!
ОтветитьGot an 85% in the basic with ZERO studying. Watched this video, had the documents on hand that he recommended, and jumped around his slides to see which document I should search in. Used Google and "CTRL-F" a lot. Thank you for this great resource.
Ответитьdo u need to get your basic before advanced
ОтветитьThanks Don! Followed your advice, wrote the test, passed with 2 wrong. I do have some aviation background though.
ОтветитьThanks for making this video - it helped tremendously with what to expect and how to prepare. Scored 88% 🙂.
ОтветитьI was seriously thinking of getting a good drone. I periodically charter a plane for aerial photography, and I do a lot of wilderness photography too. However, it seems that Algonquin Provincial Park, and all other parks, the Rideau Canal, Lemone Point and so on, are all out of bounds. If most of the places I am interested in are out of bounds, I guess it is not the machine for me.
ОтветитьWhere are the answers, I can't seem to find them.
Ответитьthanks you for this effort, helps me alot
ОтветитьThanks Don
ОтветитьHi Don, so if I buy your guide for $30 for basic operations - will this reading this material be enough to pass?
ОтветитьThank you for the guides and for your involvement with the DPAC. Followed your guides, Joined and took the DPAC safety course. Helped me breeze through the basic pilot test.
ОтветитьHello Don! I just took the exam and passed with 80%. So thank YOU for creating this study guide along with your other informative videos!
Ответитьis this video still updated? thanks for your content Don. Cheers. I am new on this field i just start today to understand how drones works here in canada.
ОтветитьHi Don! I just got my Basic Certificate! Thanks for putting this together. It was very helpful.
ОтветитьPassed with a 91%, thank you G
Ответитьthanks my friend, this was very helpful :)
ОтветитьFast forward to 2024!
Lets hope it's still all the same! Studying for another day or 2, then then gona challenge this exam!
Thank you, Don!!! We both passed, your videos are an amazing and essential resource.
ОтветитьAnd success! 1st try, 94%
Thank you soo much for the time and effort you put into this very thorough guide!
❤❤
Watched your videos and did approx 4 - 6 hours studying, had the reference docs open as well as using Google and passed the exam first time with 88%. Thanks Don.
ОтветитьThis was a great tool with a lot of important insight. I watched it through and wrote out everything on the screen in a notebook. I took the test without studying further thinking I would just get my feet wet and prepare to fail but after about 40 minutes I passed! I didn’t see my score anywhere but I am good to go. I only have a Mini 4 Pro but I am grateful for the education👏🏼
ОтветитьThanks for the breakdown, Don. Just did my exam and got 97%. Followed your guide and that helped out a lot.
ОтветитьI mostly copied and pasted into Google, used Part IX once or twice & just common sense for a few questions and got 85%. It was easier than expected
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I just got my pilot certificate, I scored 94% on my very first attempt. Knowing what to expect in the exam actually helped me get over my reluctance to take this exam. Cheers Don
ОтветитьThanks for your help Don! Passed the exam with 82% on the first go and I am not a book smart guy by any means. Your guidance helped point me in the right direction. The exam was interesting. About a 1/3 were common sense, 1/3 were based on the material you spoke of, but then they threw these trick, very tech questions which left me searching on the fly.
Advice to anyone writing, expect the unexpected. If you have the material Don suggests in front of you and you know where to find answers about general aviation then you're good!
Best of luck to everyone out there. Now to prepare for the advance exam! 🤟🏼
thanks Don, even today this video is well worth it! cheers
ОтветитьNice video, thanks very much for putting it out! One thing that really stuck out to me as a pilot is I suggest not to teach your confusion with regard to the inclusion of certain topics so much. Of course there is good reason to make sure people know what zulu time is (all weather charts/observations use it, for example), what kind of weather certain clouds bring, how an airfoil works. This is a license that brings people to the before, largely isolated realm of general and commercial aviation. Also, remember that drones are relatively new. This is one of the first iterations of the regulations and exams. One excellent homework project or video topic is to explore why TC would include these topics.
ОтветитьThanks so much Don!
ОтветитьGoogle allowed during test?
ОтветитьIs this video still a good reference?
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO MUCH! 2024 and this guy is still helping people pass. I just passed with 85%, first try because of your videos
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for this.
ОтветитьIn your advanced operations video, I believe you mentioned that during the exam, you can do a Google search? Or did I misunderstand that? Also mention you can search within PDF documents. Is that correct? During the exam?
Ответитьall those rules are fuggn Retarded.. you think im gonna keep a record of every flight ever.. gfy gov
ОтветитьThis awesome! Going to watch all your videos! Really like your editing style and video format.
ОтветитьNovember 2024. Has this video, or any of it's info, been updated lately?
ОтветитьHey Don, where could I find the approved drone list for Advanced Operations in Canada?
ОтветитьSo if one can't fly over advertised events, can one fly over a crowd of people that spontaneously gathered in a park, or field...?
ОтветитьGreat Video! First test attempt, 80% in 38 minutes. There were a lot of questions on the test I wasn't expecting for the basic certificate but no need to stress. Google search and 'copy & paste' is your friend that will get you a passing score first time. You have 2.57 minutes to answer each question. GIT 'R' DONE!
ОтветитьFantastic video, thanks so much. Preparing for my Basic Exam here. Are there any important changes to know for 2025?
ОтветитьJust wrote the exam in about 30 minutes and got a 91% on the first attempt. Thanks so much, once again! Excellent video and pointers.
ОтветитьThanks Don! Watched your video twice and studied the CARs to pass with a 94! Awesome resource!
ОтветитьJust passed my basic exam. Thank you very much!
ОтветитьThanks a million Don. After I saw your video (I wasn't even aware I needed a drone pilot certificate in Canada (I'm in the US and have a TRUST Certifcate). In any case I tried to wing it yesterday and failed with 63%. Last evening and this morning I re-reviewed all your pointers to CAR, KR, AIM and others for each section and it helped me fly through the exam in 32 minutes. Now I've submitted my SFOC application. Assuming they grant it to me, I'll have to apply for an SFOC every year it seems. Our daughter lives in BC and we drive across to BC all the time (we live just south of the BC border).
ОтветитьHi Don: Just wanted to thank you for your videos and supporting documentation! By going through them, reading the many supporting reference materials and then carefully writing the exam, I was able to pass the Basic test in 42 minutes the first time with 85%! Some previous R/C model flying experience helped too. Thank you!
ОтветитьChatGPT plus screeen clip thank me later
ОтветитьHow much has changed since 2019?
ОтветитьThanks Don! As a result of your AMAZING videos I just had my yaaaaay moment, passed my basic exam, 85%! WOOT! Now to practice, practice, practice! Safe flying everybody!
