They are reliable but super overprice, yesterday a saw one person selling a Camry 2007 for 9k that’s insane I bought my candy 5 years ago for almost 10k but is a newer model 2012 fullloaded. But now is not a good idea to buy one car is too much.

i wonder if toyota's kaizen is the same as western kaizen where it's just pretending to do continuous improvements on paper and charts to look good in front of idiot bosses/shareholders who don't understand any of it or are just plain naive.

I have an 04 Camry with 75k that got smashed by an uninsured driver. Smashed in the front and back, totally totaled. BUT it was mostly all body damage, except a damaged radiator and tie rod. Most people would and did consider it a loss, but I put it all back together with matching junkyard parts for about a grand. Still have to get the airbag system working again is all (few hundred more the junkyard route) but I consider it well worth it, and hope to be driving it another 10 years.

I loved my old 2007 Diesel Toyota Rav 4 until pollution laws forced a change so having done 150,000 miles changed it to a Toyota C-HR hybrid.
Am loving it also and will do all the regular maintenance once more with regular oil, oil filter, air, cabin and importantly battery filter changes along with brake pad replacement when necessary. Not sure if new engine has cam or belt chain but if belt is the only work which will carried out by garage.
Just love the reliability of Toyotas plus call backs when necessary which gives confidence and combined with routine visual inspection intend getting at least 150,000 miles from this one with careful driving...

Toyota still cares about quality and durability, and reliablity.. the big three.. not so much.. that is why they are the top, best in every category. and cost more.

Today my Hybrid RAV4 just reached 100,000 kilometers (62,000 miles). I've had only one issue since the beginning: the fuel tank door spring was defective, and I had to get it replaced. The immobilization time was 15 minutes.

How can Toyota release a transmission which had so many immediate issues? Can't believe they never tested it. Did they test incorrectly? Did they release it knowing it had problems? I would be very curious to understand what Toyota's testing methodology is.

Toyota is extremely reliable. I don’t know why you do these videos and complain about nonsense, things like bucket seats. FYI people that watch this channel. Normally take care of their cars. Not sure why you’re giving us a hard time.

Toyotas are still more reliable than most other car brands out there, even with the more modern technology and "things that can go wrong" added. I'll only ever spend my hard earned money on Toyotas or Hondas because of that. Other brands just can't do as well long-term, even though the playing field has levelled somewhat in the last while.

If Toyota cared so much about their reputation why didnt they do the RIGHT thing by providing the metal high pressure oil hose replacement part when my 6 cyl engine had the oil hose blowout problem? I asked for it and they said no, here's your "improved" rubber high pressure oil line.

Honestly, I did not buy my 2012 Camry looking for a host of bells and whistles. I wanted a good reliable car that looked nice and would last me a long time and it has done just that. From the moment of the test drive I was amazed at all of the features the car had on the inside not to mention the good look of the entire outside. Sure, when I am on the road, I sort of blend in with the other similar models of Camry around me but I do not want to stand out. If the car makes me feel secure when I am out on either a short or long trip, that is all that matters. Thanks for another great video, AMD! Blessings to you and yours!

Toyota does not care about fixing or listening to consumer complaints. The dealer and the Toyota brand rep fill paperwork that matches Toyota's instructions of whether an item is normal or abnormal.

Toyota vehicles are amongst the best I've worked on. One design flaw of the 8 speed u880 you mentioned in the video, is the lack of being able to service the internal filter. Other than that, I can still perform fluid changes, regardless. I know they're following the suit of other manufacturers. Those vehicles with the 8 speed, I do, in my part add a magnefine filter in line with my transmission services to help prolong the life of them. Similar to what Honda has done with their units. Since working on my first 2013 Toyota in 2015 regarding brakes, water pump leakage and tune up, I really enjoy the platform, even some services I perform aren't time consuming, yet simple. Same will go for Honda. These vehicles I see less of, which is good for the customer. Toyota with the standard it has in terms of design; it's extremely well thought out.

Currently I own two Toyotas, a 2019 RAV4 LE and a Toyota Camry 2004, which has 246,000 miles on it with no major problems ever. Air condition still works great, power, windows, and door locks. No issues, Basic maintenance, changing the oil, radiator flush, transmission, fluid, changed, new tires, and new batteries is all I have ever spent on this car and the upholstery is immaculate. Prior to these vehicles are owned by 1967 Toyota corona and drove it 200,000 miles. The next car was a Toyota Corolla which I drove 176,000 miles and sold it to my brother. The next two cars was a 1984 Toyota Cressida and then a 1989 Toyota Cressida. The two Cressida‘s did give me some problems of overheating but overall they were good cars I have owned one American made car which was a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville. I’m sorry I ever bought that car cost me a fortune and I sold it to my mother-in-law for one dollar.😅

My Corolla is fantastic…….it’s a 2020. It is a very solid compact car…….. I’ve had zero problems…. The CVT is for the birds but …..I have friends with 1-2 yr old KIA’s that sound like tractors when they pass by me on the interstate. YES, it has it’s own set of issues (Interiors) but I am 72…..I’m thinking this will be my last car.

I've had several Toyotas and most have been fairly reliable. The only lemon I got was the 2007 Tundra. What a money sucking hole that was! Other than that our extended family has had a Tercel, Prius, Camry, Corolla, Pickup, Tacoma, and Highlander. Everyone was happy with these models.

Thank you mister car care nut for all your videos! I agree that Toyota is in the business of making RELIABLE vehicles. They throw some sportiness into their cars as well. And yeah if they want to, they can make a vehicle that can handle Nuremberg, take the LFA for instance, but their thing is reliability. And that’s what WE want, and that’s why we buy them. Take care of your car and it will take care of you! More Toyota owners can vouch for that than most car manufacturers. BTW, I was a Nissan tech for over 20 years.

I own a '96 Camry LE 2.2 sedan with about 180K-miles. '90s Camrys, like mine, have soft suspensions, that don't improve with age. A used set of Camry wagon rear springs, and new struts made a huge improvement in emergency handling, at the expense of a slightly stiffer ride and some increase in rear ride-height. Also, doing regular timing-belt changes is a pain. But at least it's a non-interference engine. Plus, parts are still relatively plentiful, and NO car payments! 🙂

Hi, great video.
Supposing I do basic maintenance like clockwork, what would be the most reliable long-lasting cars you can find? (I hate hybrid and electric - I won't get on that "current thing" bandwaggon for at least an other 20 years)?
