Those ideal arc 300s have an amazing arc you won't see these new inverter machines stand the test of time like those have don't get me wrong some of the new ones are awesome but not built like those

Never used a 11018, now 10018-D2 on the other hand I probably go through about a few pounds a day lol

About how many amps to run on 5" root pass? And is this an up hill rod or downhill? Thanks.

Have you tried 3/32 7018 sureweld. Just about peel off before ya finish the pass.
