ОтветитьI am 52 years old and have been eating fried mushrooms of all kinds along with my entire family all of my life and dating back 80 plus years ( We actually harvest/gather/hunt wild mushrooms of all kinds) and not until recent years of this new "to many" vegan explosion have I ever had anyone refer to them as fried chicken or a fried chicken substitute. They're just fried mushrooms. Enjoy them. However you want but they're not a chicken substitute. Not even chicken of the woods.

ОтветитьSo lucky, every (super)market in Holland/The Netherlands sells them. I love to season them with spices made for chicken and bake or airfry them. I use them a lot.

ОтветитьThis recipe is amazing! i am a 40 year vegetarian and lots of my meals are now based on mushrooms. I have used much more complicated recipes for similar dishes. A couple of tips: I did the slurry using cornstarch and marinated it in that for about an hour while I did something else. I then used a dry dredge of flour and panko. Put the mushrooms right from the slurry (shook off the excess) and then into the dry mix. Sealed it in Tupperware and let it sit. Then Sprayed it with avocado oil! Put it in the basket and did it on 385 for 20 minutes—turned at 10 and checked. It really took about 35 minute (checking regularly). It was DIVINE! so my shortcuts were cornstarch slurry—then dry mix the avocado oil spray. Unbelievabl good! Thank you so much for this recipe!

ОтветитьI’m eager to try this recipe. Since becoming pescatarian the one thing I have missed is fried chicken wings. Now that I’m also eliminating fried food this recipe is a godsend. I can’t wait to taste it with some of my favorite wing sauce on top. It will be the perfect Friday night or game night meal.

ОтветитьI’ve made oyster mushrooms maybe 3 times and haven’t really been satisfied with the texture. It’ll be a little tougher or the skin falls right off. I’m going to try this recipe and come back! Maybe I tend to overcook them 😅
