Yeah ok the Runva pulled faster but then it gave up halfway through! I’d put my money on the Sherpa and going by the current draw and heat, it’d have me out before it even thought about getting hot.

Useless testing by a bunch of dud journos who know nothing about actual 4WD touring from a magazine that was once respected but is now a bullshit publication for advertising revenue only and will soon be gone from our news-stands as the world has moved on and their good journos have done the same. Don’t bother buying this magazine!
Oh , these dickheads had the winch hook upside down position and so was a brain injury just waiting to happen, but from the crazy results the brain damage was already evident!

You guys seriously picked the top two winches which FAILED FIRST as your winners? Definitely know I"m buying a Sherpa, no question. They're also lighter than most competitors.

Дело в том что испытание при реальной нагрузке 5т сопряжено с множеством трудностей. например, должен постоянно рваться трос и его должно срывать с барабана. Чего мы не видим на видео. Кроме того под такой нагрузкой лебёдки должны были сгореть максимум на втором цикле.

WARNING: I purchased the 12000 LB monster winch From the Oregon USA Store Less than a year ago and had to have it Replaced as it showed up not working. They Than Just sent another winch free of charge. WOW Nice. I thought as it Broke before pulling 100 ft of cable. They sent another new winch free of charge. I replied and asked to Return the New winch that is still in the box unopened. There reply was I could Mail it at my own Expense and then they would give me a Store Credit of $265. So I basically spent almost $800+ dollars on a winch that never worked and was offered a $265 credit after my shipping deduction I would get About $150 Back from my $800++ investment. Not cCounting My Wasted Time with the installs & Removals. Lame customer service from the Store In Oregon USA. I told Bubba was going to post my experience HE Replied have at it. So TELL EVERYONE. BEWARE

Too bad we can't get the bigger Runva's (175000 and 20000) over in NA. Besides myself I know of several other missed sales of the bigger Runva.

Sherpa 4x4 winches (Scintex) are the dodgiest company.

Why have a Sherpa 4x4 winch? Not only are they horse shit quality, Scintex are well known Scammers.

Funny I was thinking Runva, they are low key legendaries.

Hate to be this dude but... purchased one after this review. Had winchs for 20 yr+ never had to many issues, runva xp 9.5.. well first of all installed it no issues. Im an auto ele so typical. After install gave all plugs good pull make sure they are safe, almost all of the crimpt fitings came apart. Had to cut recrimp 9/10 fittings. Then 2 months later went to use it no power. The motor housing was 90° out and the river crossings had corroded the engine and stator. Completely burnt out bushes, and fucked. Got in touch and seemed like they would help. Until the emails stopped. Was a terrible experience. After 5 runva winchs im done.

*I repair winches professionally* Most of these are junk that's made in China. Warn and Ramsey are USA made and have full parts and support available. They also last decades, unlike any China winch. Runva, Sherpa and the rest are just another China brand made by a parent company with a bunch of other made-up brands under them that ruin the whole market. Lots of winches can work ok a few times so these tests are useless. Without parts and support, and a long history of design, you are screwed. Buy Warn or Ramsey or don't bother.

I'm a little late to viewing this but. Maybe in Australia things are backwards. The first two winches to fail...were the two winners??? Winners of last place? I'm confused. Only the Sherpa pulled 7 times, wouldn't that mean it won the torture test?

I almost left without any info....looks the winner and runner up portion were added after the fact. I would use the website to link to an indepth video comparison and not the otger way around......just saying.

the warn magnum looks like their tried and tested old school design, probable why it didn't keep up with the modern winches

after looking at the list, i wonder why the sherpa winch 9500 didn't win, it was the only on with lower amp draw and made all the pulls with out issue.

Total waste of time. This is a review of the winch review magazine devoid of any conclusions.

Good video displaying the test parameters. The link provided all the info needed to make any purchase decisions. Overall I think the Sherpa did the best. Was the most consistent, low temps, low draw.

So what's the Verdict ? ... Nada..

When looking at the stats. looks like the Sherpa winch won, cause it kept on going were as all the others stopped. The Runva was the first to stop???? Sherpa drawn less amps/ less meters. Runva drew more amps/ pulled a larger distance

Massive temp spikes, huge power draws, your top two seem more like they belong at the bottom. High current draw can kill batteries and winches and those temp spikes are mental.
That is a extreamily poor scoring system you used to find the winner, sounds more like a paid for promotion.
