I've run a D1 for a few years only really on beaches, great in the dry, but no good in the wet (yes, I knew, but I thought it may have been better).
Just got a D2 and can't wait to hit the beaches again.
My one recommendation to XP would be to maybe drop a bigger or another battery in the coil, it would be nice to have a 10+ hour capability without having to fork out for another coil.
Here is a thought... what about a user replaceable battery?
Thanks for the video! 😜

HEY!!! so I just came across your channel and I did subscribe. I've owned a cheap detector now for a little while and saved some cash so I can buy 1 QUALITY MACHINE. I'm not gonna be buying detectors every couple months like some people but I want something good now. I have 2,500 for just the detector and would value your opinion on 1. I'm in nj on the east coast of the the states and looking for waterproof ocean proof, beach sand, and hard dirt detecting. What would you choose with 2,500 to spend(im not looking for value for money, I'm looking for the best I can get within 2,500 dollars)? A few people now tell me the manticore or deus 2 but leave it at that... I love to get your opinion on 1 or the other UNLESS YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT FAVORITE..... THANKS

Love my Deus 2, but believe it or not, it is sometimes too deep for me. I use an 11" coil and I use it on the beach on the Treasure Coast of Florida, where black sand isn't uncommon. Last I went out I found a lovely spot where I was able to crank it up to 99 sensitivity, lower the recovery speed to 0 and basically run the thing wide open. I was worn out in about an hour and a half, because I was routinely digging holes between 18 and 22 inches deep. Fortunately, I don't have to run sensitivity that high, so I don't have to dig craters all the time... but the depth on this thing at the beach is just downright scary with an 11" coil! Just insane! I would say one of the things I don't like about it is the lack of a coherent depth meter. But aside from that, and a bit of a learning curve, and a bit rough on the display and menu, I love this machine. I'm coming from an Equinox 800, but unless I have to, I'm not going back. Not to say I wouldn't buy another Minelab, I like Minelab. But the Equinox 800, as good as it is, gets positively spanked by the Deus 2, and I don't have the budget to be buying an Equinox 900 or Manticore on top of the Deus 2. So unless the Deus 2 pays for itself, we will just have to keep using it for a long time. That's okay, because it's more than capable enough and well built to make it well worth my time to really master it, and stick with it for years.

Flimsy construction. Charging cable breaks down quickly. Mediocre depth on coins

I have Deus 1 and two and both from conception, there is a fault with some units via connecting the unit to the stem, I’m very careful with all my gadgets and equipment, the side pieces broke off and also the backing tape peeled away and this happened after only a few uses, some units do slide on better than others, pot luck, the shop replaced the whole unit and I bought a replacement unit holder that stops it being knocked of stem as was a regular issue. Yes I also agree headphones do feel cheap quality compared to many and even a £30 Mpow headphone feel way better quality for the expensive price tag, yes they do work and can use all day and recommend 100% on windy beaches, charging the unit and the coil is fiddly and could be much better, still amazing machines
The screw was missing on mine from new and seen other people with on Utube also with missing screw, so it’s possible your was not there in the first place lol

Great review, I love mine as well. I have been detecting on and off since I was 12 years old. This is a powerful machine. Someone getting into the hobby for the first time would probably get burned out on it. Love the tones that this machine can produce. I would love to see XP come out with a 6 inch coil for it. You would think that with the battery technology it would be possible. Thanks again for sharing. Did a sub and rang that bell so I can watch more.

Good review mate. I'm on a Nox 700. The only reason I haven't had a Deus is the fact I don't like the look of the control box screen. I think if they made it more modern I'd probably go for one.

Great review! Think
My wife would divorce me if I bought one of these on top of the the rest of the collection, but nothing like a good review from someone with acres of experience to make you feel like you are missing something.

Thank you

Spot on review Lukas, a while back I bought the deus 1 and a lite set up off of Sid Perry and loved it from day one. Then a few months back I was lucky enough to win a deus 2 and like yourself rate it as near perfect.
My only criticism ( my own fault) was that I used the deep program and found it only lasted 4 hours on a full charge . Good luck 🤞

As a long term Deus user I’d like to give you a little tip. Buy a spare set of charging leads ready for when they let you down and be ready with a 3D printed charging clip off E-Bay👍

I have the Deus 11 and i like it a lot.

As for the 800 ? SELL IT. And buy the 900 . Really good and much better for the beach. Not 100% perfect but near and really light. You would then have all you need. As for the Manticore? I think , and i dont have one but going buy the reviews i have seen and seeing the machine it is only a very little bit better than the 900 and thats not in construction. Both are far better than the 800.

I've run the Deus for seven years my good lady five years she runs the light. Never had an issue. Just keep an eye on the pin in the cam lock. You have to push them in every year or two. It's expensive but worth every penny. Saves a fortune in batteries. You didn't mention the mi6 pinpointer . And it's link straight to controller. Thank you for a great honest review. Many thanks wasp and Helen 🐝

Thanks Grim for the honest and balanced review. I currently have the Equinox 800 and ctx 3030 which the ctx I've used only a handful of times. I'm going to sell my CTX to buy a deus 2, as I struggle with weight due to a previous severe arm injury which restricts me even though I have the harness. Your review has now reassured me to purchase the deus 2, cheers pal 👍

Great review Grim. I've got the Ws6 master version, totally agree with magnetic coil charger, that would be the icing on the cake. Other than that, Mi6 pinpointer links wirelessly to headphones. Build quality is excellent. As you say, 5 year warranty!.
All in all, I love mine.
