Suicide is Nature's attempt to not only permanently alleviate suffering in a person, but alleviate the suffering of those around that person. This includes any actions committed by that person. In Asia (ie Japan) it is a noble thing to do. In the West it is considered shameful and a religious crime against God. So there is a cultural perception of suicide that is not being considered here. Western concept is to preserve the life of the individual, while Asian concept is to consider the benefits of self-sacrifice. Please take this into consideration before offering any sympathy to any attempted suicide survivor.

The general answer to the ‘Devil’s advocate’ questions from the interviewer is that it’s pain.

I think we should treat chronic pain and chronic moderate to severe depression roughly the same.

Every fiber of my being relates.
A psychiatrist actually told me to behave or else I would be removed & rejected. Meaning he would refuse to see me again.
I wasn’t abusive or violent or disrespectful.
I had spent 30 minutes prior with a young woman (she looked like a teenager) who seemed overwhelmed by my answers, but
she took notes, so I trusted the doctor would
understand & address my problem. He was so offended because I had questions that the Intake Clerk couldn’t answer. How DARE I ask any questions. I was to blindly obey this cold, cruel, impatient & arrogant man. . I had waited months to obtain an appointment with this “god”. I left shaken, frightened, hopeless.
LOVE is what helps most. IF you can find any anywhere.

hey guys we don't have suicide hot lines here in Algeria north africa and if you call cops or something they gonna arrest you for wasting their time cuz no one believe in mental health here .What should i do ?

Since this interview 4 years ago I think suicide still needs to be talked about even more now because everything that you all were talking about is still happening. Need to do more interviews to get the word back out there. What are the numbers now? Are they better or worse?

The mom says ‘it’s not about them’ meaning those that love her. Actually yes, it’s VERY much about them, since they’re watching you, minding you, helping you, terrified for you, treading on eggshells around you and ultimately handed a life sentence by you, the minute you take your own life! It’s ALL about them, for real!
