We need to get para sites out of the housing market (wall street investors, corporations, Chinese real estate investors, American real estate investors, AirBnB investors). One house per family. You can't buy up multiple houses when there is a housing crisis.

Veterans already get more favorable interest rates, terms, lower or no property tax, and are more likely to be approved for a mortgage than non-veterans. Just think about what everyone else is going through trying to keep their homes without the help of the VA and all these subsidies and protections.

They got a BREAK where they didn't have to pay mortgage for 2 years... but that NEVER meant it was forgiven, they knew they had to keep paying!! It's not the government's fault that they can't administrate

Combat and/or drafted veterans deserve our help, but 'in the rear with the gear' veterans are no more heroes than the taxpayer that pays for everything. Too many fake heroes have destroyed our recognition of what a real hero is.

Unfortunately these fraudulent practices are universal. You pay up every month, pay insurance with it for when things get rough, but they still use pest control on you whenever investors are at risk of not being able to receive annual profit increases.

I noticed that at least two of the army officers featured had cancer at a pretty young age. This is highly unusual, but the PACT Act was passed last years and includes a number of cancers that are presumptive for service--if you served in certain locations, such as Iraq or Afghanistan. Perhaps VA disability is an option that cancer-afflicted women can pursue.

The military who fight in wars abroad are not fighting for their country, are fighting for the corporations and various interests of oligarchs or politicians to enrich themselves on the back of the other people's kids. Every person should refuse to fight outside of their country.

People need to seriously understand that, there is a lot of corruption in the industry and certain people are "profiting from the corruption itself " who are targeting soft target". The only way to protect your private assets and equity is to create a trust, and remove your name from all property deeds in the public. Your private assets should never be in the public domain where corrupt fraudulent actor's can see and go after them through criminal fraudulent means.

I'm going to get hammered for my comment. I've been retired since 1998. I bought my current home in 1993 and paid it off in 1997. In 2011 I was on my local Housing Authority Board and I had a Veteran and his contact me about options for public housing as they were in the process of foreclosure. It started me down the rabbit hole of HUD/VA Home Retention programs available. Who they were for. How to apply. How to navigate between VA, HUD, Lender's, and Servicers. I have been a HUD trained volunteer Home Retention Counselor since 2012. Although the HAMP program had the best program components they were the hardest program to qualify for. With VA loans transitioning into modified mortgages they were the absolute easiest and fastest to get approved. You didn't have to prove you could pay your monthly mortgage. There wasn't " significant " savings so I can see how VA Loan Holder's were doomed to a cycle of failed modifications. After one successful modification I had one client purchase a 2 year old motorhome for 139K. It was mind-boggling how 45, 50, & 65 year old adults made such poor financial decisions. With household retirement incomes of between 50-70K they'd be spending 70-80K a year just running up credit card debt and pulling equity from their homes. I said all that to say VA loans aren't predatory in nature they're just to easy to qualify for & the companies that offer 2nd's and home equity loans are the ones causing the misery.

Most of these programs are designed to help the big banks and real estate agents by allowing people to put themselves in precarious financial positions while inflating the real estate values
