Thanks mate !! Working on mine (spilled coffee on it 🤦🏽♂🤦🏽♂) ... btw, you look like my previous manager at Microsoft 😅😅
ОтветитьMan i loved my blackwidow. Where all the battlefield blackwidows at? Seriously whyd they stop making em ;)
ОтветитьHow do you remove the keyboard? Mine is stiff and stuck on there and its brand new. Obviously I dont want to break it but how did you remove it
Ответить@squashyBoy can you made review about glarses cherry mx purple? thx
Ответитьsheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh i wish someone can do this work for my k65 Rapidfire cuz i love this keyboard but i'm too idiotic to do this stuff you did in the video :(
ОтветитьWOW! that is a huge sound difference! I have a couple of these lying around I may need try this on!
Ответитьand in the end it sounds exactly the same
ОтветитьK70 was my first ever mechanical keyboard. I recently bought a Wooting and took the K70 to work. I am 100% going to do this to my board soon. It sounds so much better.
ОтветитьHi, would it be possible to mod it and install sockets for a hot swappable restoration?
ОтветитьK70 keycaps tend to break rather easily at the stem of the keycaps, that's the problem I had as well. Was that not a problem in this case?
ОтветитьBest haircut ever
ОтветитьI built my keyboard at 12
ОтветитьTbh I’m almost 12 but I want a mechanical keyboard cuz yes
ОтветитьNice vid
Ответитьeven after modding ehhh ew ngl cherry browns bad
ОтветитьNumber B
ОтветитьI actually have one of the first Corsair Vengeance K70s, released back in I think 2012? The box says Vengeance K70, but I guess Corsair rebranded it later and simply called it the K70 Lux? I'm not sure, finding information on this specific iteration of the K70 is quite hard since Corsair has made so many revisions to it over the years.
It has no RGB, just red north-facing LEDs, and no hot-swappable switches. However it did come with some nice Cherry MX Reds. At the time, I think I spent about $200 on this keyboard. I've been using it for about 10 years. I am actually typing this message on it right now. At some point, when the stock keycaps started to get super shiny, I decided to swap them out for a random set of doubleshot PBT keycaps I found on eBay.
With how long it has been, the keyboard sounds HORRIBLE. Lots of scratchiness on the switches, and also the stabilizers are horrible. Recently, I had decided to look into DIY custom keyboards and figured I was due for replacing this one. I figured I could just dismantle this one, desolder all the switches, lube them, and maybe even replace the stabilizers with something better all together. However, the work for that would have been insane and I just really wanted something different.
I decided to get a Keychron K8 Pro, along with a nice set of MT3 keycaps. When I get that put together, I will most likely mod out my original K70. Despite taking so much work to mod, I think it would be worth it. It is still a 100% functional keyboard, the only real issue with it is the volume knob, which I have accidentally damaged through the various times I have taken apart the keyboard to thoroughly clean it over the years. It still works, it just makes noise when scrolling it. I could probably fix this, I think this is an issue with one of the plastic bits it slips into. I may even figure out how to interface a USB-C port into it, possibly even figure out how to slap in a lipo battery and give it a proper protection circuit. It sounds extensive but I think modding this would be cool. I'd love to give it to a friend, or even just sell it after I mod it.
hey. how easy would it be to replace the leds?
ОтветитьIt sounds the same
ОтветитьThe fuckin dust-off, lmao.
The difference in sound is night and day, pretty awesome.
excellent video bro!
ОтветитьThis is by far the most relatable piece of keyboard content I have ever seen. I actually stuffed mine full of paper towel and put vaseline into my stabs. It sounds pretty good tbh.
ОтветитьI'd like to mention that at the beginning of this video you show the MkII version of the K70 and do a tear down of the MK1 version. There are quite a few differences between the two.
ОтветитьCan you do a video on just using hardware shop grease? Like lithium and silicone grease? I don’t know if the lithium grease is conductively insulated but worth a shot?
Ответитьit's scientifically proven that if you say Corsair repeatedly three times, the keycaps fly everywhere.
ОтветитьWhatever you do, those cherry MX browns will never sound good ;-;
ОтветитьRules are just suggestions, now that's true wisdom
Ответитьkind of proves that gaming keyboards have good bones and just need some love to get near the level of a custom keeb
Ответитьeven after the moding and every thing its still so clicky
ОтветитьMy keyboard sounds better cuz I used jwicks but for cherry mx browns they sound kinda nice ngl
ОтветитьIs aight good also amazing video im a bit late tho
ОтветитьWhat did you use to disoldering?
ОтветитьSquashy: Cherry mx BrowNSS
Me: Those are gateron browns motherfu-
Browns are not that bad, but ALL! linear switches are better
ОтветитьMy biggest flex in this community is that I never liked cherry browns.
That, unfortunately is ‘cause I likes cherry blues. Now I at least use box jades for my clicky stuff, but I’m still a loud and obnoxious gremlin.
Is it bad that I have both and they both almost don't work
Ответитьah yes, number b
Ответитьmost of this video is fucking ads
Ответитьwhen the advert takes up 2.5 minutes out of a 6.6 minute video ... over a third is an add .. good job man, you must be real proud of your work.
ОтветитьEven after lubing them it still sounds bad
Ответитьl didn't think cherry mx browns could sound some what good
ОтветитьI purchased a Corsair K70 LUX RGB for $10 CAD ($7 USD). The model I got is newer then the one in the video. Then, I ordered $15 CAD ($11 USD) pudding keycaps as the original were dusty and scratched up. In the end this thing is insane!
ОтветитьGood for cherry mx browns
ОтветитьMe when an old keyboard with browns sounds better than my 2022 keyboard with reds: 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
