Thank you for clicking on this video and for watching! Several people have asked why my insurance is so expensive, and here’s the story:
-I went to an insurance agent that’s worked with my family for a while (and by that I mean, I’m probably not getting scammed, it just is what it is)
-I was honest about my situation because I figured it’ll be worse if I get in a wreck and they find out the truth (now I know this is a moral gray area within van living)
-they asked what I planned to use this for and I was honest about living in it
-they asked how many miles I planned to drive and I was honest about driving all around the US within a year or two
-they asked if I had modified it and I said I removed the back seats and seatbelts
-I haven’t been in any wrecks and had never received a ticket at that time
-I’ve been driving other people’s cars since I was 16 (I was 28 at that point), but because this was my first car, I didn’t have a record of being insured. The way I understand it, this made them insure me as if I was new to driving or had the decision making skills of the average 16 year old. Very unfair in my opinion. If you are a parent you may want to consider adding your child to your insurance to save them a few thousand dollars if you can!
-I DID call around to other places and gave the same information, and this was they best I could get!
Since then, I’ve found ways to get cheaper insurance, but it’s still more than most people pay because of not having been previously insured. If a kind insurance agent sees this and wants to help, please let me know!!
How much is expensive $$$$$$$
Ответитьwouldn't be a bad idea...to add a 3'rd chair
Ответить2k for 6 mos.? Insurance. Yes, expensive . You are not cheap.
ОтветитьVery expensive car insurance.
Thanks. Good video

ОтветитьVery practical. I love it!
ОтветитьDid she just say her vehicle insurance is $2,000 for 6 months!?!? WTF???
ОтветитьExcellent job! 🙏🙏🙏

Ответитьmay jesus protect you bless you keep you make his face shine on you alleluia amen
ОтветитьMmm, this is Beautiful, mmm, blessings dear, I'm watching from South Africa ❤
ОтветитьHow thick is your floor that you are able to sit in the trap door?
ОтветитьHi. Great build! Question: Is that a usual amount for the insurance? Seems so high but I’m no expert. Can you find cheaper insurance for a Sienna?
ОтветитьThanks for mentioning insurance. Most van life videos don’t mention that. Good to know👍
ОтветитьWhy is your insurance $4000/ year???
ОтветитьJust happened across your channel and subscribed. I love your setup, and the fact that you used a Sienna instead of a gas-guzzling Ram, Sprinter etc. The Toyota Sienna is so reliable, economical and stealthy. Really enjoyed this video, production and presentation.
ОтветитьWhy is your insurance over $300 a month, that's high even under this miserable president.
Ответить🙋🏽♀️Hiiiiiiii you’ve done a great job 👍🏽👍🏽💖
ОтветитьCool, thanks for the van tour
ОтветитьI'm from Minnesota
ОтветитьOmg I can't even deal. This woman is financially irresponsible. Period. She's so proud to tell the world how she's foolishly spending money...
ОтветитьFor those of you who don't
wish to be as foolish as this woman when it comes to insurance... You can get regular insurance without telling them things they didn't ask and still be legally covered if you have an accident. If you really cared, you can get your rig registered as a motorhome and pay only about $500 a year for insurance. That would be legal and truthful.
Is this woman crazy? She could have gotten a 4x4 anything for less than $5 and less than 100k miles.... and $2k for 6 months of insurance?!!! She must have DUIs and accidents. She should be paying less than $500 for 6 months in most states. Good grief people!
ОтветитьHow wide did you end up building your bed? I'm about to build out my van and was hoping to keep it all behind the driver's seat which would be 24" wide.
ОтветитьInsurance o an RV is a lot less than a car for commuting. Be sure to tell them this is not your primary residence or car and it is for camping only on vacations. It should drop you way down.
Cozy set up inside, very inviting. This is a fun camper. Bet you had a whole lot of fun with it already. Enjoy your youth but don't drink too much beer, it is fattening. Also remember that it is technically a car not RV so open alcohol containers is illegal.
Solar is a must. Bon Voyage!
Why wouldn't you take out the passengers seat?
ОтветитьGreat build -- but I was wondering about your insurance cost -- $2000/6mo? That seems really excessive.
ОтветитьGreat channel, the Sienna is done up so nice! Keep up the good work.
This it’s Alan, Greetings from Riverside in Southern California.
Smart lady w the extra chair.
Ответитьi have been watching your thru hike shorts, and NEVER knew you had a conversion van!
ОтветитьSafe travels.
ОтветитьLOVE YOUR BUILD! Simple and so practical! ALSO, 21st Amendment shout out! HELL OR HIGH WATERMELON!!!!!! Great beer!
ОтветитьWhy insurance so expensive
ОтветитьWouldn’t live in it… but short weekend travel, sure.
ОтветитьKool
Ответитьgreat van tour. How big is your bed?
ОтветитьInsurance $2000 for six months? Holy yikes! Why so much??
ОтветитьA place for everything and everything in it's place, a great all round package.
ОтветитьNice conversion!
Ответить4K A YEAR FOR CAR INSURANCE? You need to shop around.
ОтветитьGreat video, your an inspiration. I just got a van in great condition same as yours but older . Born in 61 we love are vans and sleeping under the stars.
Ответить🤯 $2k for 6mos insurance!?!! On a 2011? Outrageous.
ОтветитьI like your video you go to beautiful places.
I am almost done with my van it's a mini van..but can't wait to see some places my self been in Florida my whole life like to see something more than a beach 😊
$2000 insurance for 6 months😮 I guess they really socked it to you. Sorry to hear that. Pretty nice van build, never the less.
ОтветитьGreat conversion Maddie. I have a 2000 Sienna that's in great shape. Been wanting to convert it for quite some time. The under floor storage you have, is that because you had the stow away seats? My Sienna doesn't have that so when I take the seats out it is what it is. Am trying to figure out a good way to keep the kind of stuff I'd otherwise use in storage. There isn't even a place for the spare tire inside the van. Mine is attached to the underside outside of the van.
ОтветитьI love what you've done. I think it's perfect and I would be so happy with it. Best wishes from Texas.
