Very sad very sad to hear about his man's death.. I remember my mom playing his records on the stero in my teenage years. As I aged .. I really loved his music what was once my parents music became mine...not only his refined deep voice.....his whistling was like a songbird. The earth has lost a true icon....its so sad...im sad...

Very sad to hear of Roger's passing. He touched many people, and here in New Zealand, there have been many, many radio shows featuring his songs over the past several days. Another 6 hour marathon this evening! He's REALLY well liked here! RIP Roger!

Just heard about this, very sad rest in peace Roger Whittaker my condolences to his family. One of my all time favourite Artists.

Dear Roger has now departed for his own Durham Town.
So sadly, one way 😢
He was such a creative artist with his distinctive voice & melodies.
Roger layed down markers in the sand with his songs & whilst others have tried to replicate his works, ultimately they have fallen short.
As I get older, the musicians I grew up with through the 70's, & 80's, are now starting to slip away.

And as a result, true music & indeed consumate pro's like Roger Whittaker are strumming away off into the sunset for the final time.

RIP Mr. Wthittaker ! thank you for your great songs, your voice !

A tremendous voice. I could listen to this song over and over. So sad that we have lost so many great musicians so recently including Jimmy Buffet and Gordon Lightfoot and others Kenny Rodgers...etc

The sad passing of Roger Whittaker leaves a huge void in the great but forgotten music of yesteryear. He is unforgettable as is this his own great song to a lyric by Ron Walker.
