I kept coming back to this sounds demo. At first I prefer 990 but after some sit down and listening , 880 is so special. The song choice is also good. Somewhat neutral but lean toward what I would listening to. I would get both 880 n 990 but the first pair from Beyer would be 880. Thank you for the sound demos ! Very nice recording and song list. 🙏

I have DT 880 Pros, and I'm surprised at the expansion of the audio space over the 880s (which sounded good).

I recognize this is a video from 2020, but these are very nice song selections and you have a very nice selection of gear. My attention was divided while the video was playing, yet everytime I looked up I caught a glimpse of something different and unique, from the DT770 Premium, to the Solaris, to the Viva Egoista, the Utopia, and at the very end, the Pioneer. It's all gear I'd never expect to find in one place and all very tasteful. The DT770 Premium, I think they stopped producing those when I was 13, so I may have a higher chance of experiencing the Viva Egoista than I ever would one of those. If you happen to have one of these videos with a recording of that DT770, I'd love a link.

880 is the best among the rest

You cannot imagine how much I'm confused about this comparison! Especially when it comes to choosing between dt 880 (all editions) and dt 700/900 pro x and dt 770 pro. I used to use Sennheiser hd 380 pro for my video editing and video sound mixing and I was satisfied with the flatness and unbiased sound (after a while I realized that it was not as unbiased as I thought!) so I decided to switch to a new headphone for my editing (consistent bass and a bit warm, bright at mids and not sharp or airy at treble) and now this is my big question: what is the right pick under 350$ ?

Many commenters here are rendering confusion by calling the "DT990's" (base/60 ohm version) and the "DT990 Premiums" the 250 ohm version, but that's incorrect. The "DT990 Pro's" are 250 ohm, the "DT990's" are the base 60 ohms. The "Premiums" are not demo'd or mentioned here in either the video nor the title; the premiums would be 600 ohms.

Sir i m currently running a shitty earphones m thinking of getting a new headphones but m not sure which i m a huge pink floyd fan i also listen to some more rock and edm music and m comfused around Sennheiser hd 560s akg k702/712 pro and beyerdynamic 880/990 pro (250) audiotechnica r70x all these are basically of same cost here in india
I think i can spare some cash and get some ifi zen air dac combo as it is cheap or i should go with zen dac v2 or should i save in dac/amp and go with hifiman edition xs
I will be greatfull as you are one of that actually know the sound signature and what could be the best

As far as I know, both versions sound the same (880 Premium vs 880 Pro and 990 Premium vs 990 Pro), only that Pro has more clamping force. Premium are branded as home-use, while Pro for studio

Think I made the right choice with the least altered sound of the DT880, although listening to them through my CURRENT headphones is a bit silly.

people suck at reviewing headphones i mean god damn.. the 990pros sound the best out of all these headphones.. yet everyone claims the 770s are better im done listening to people

Popular choices are going toward DT990, but clearly they have fake sound !
DT880 (not Pro) is the closest to the original, with less Artificial Enhancement.
HiFi means FIDELITY, not Flavouring !
(PS.: All Beyers have this sibilant treble which bothers me a little)

Your 880 premium looks like a PRO. the headband should be the same as the 990 premium.

記得以前聽的時候感覺990pro比較均衡平和一點，990高音很激進
用HD800聽起來反而990的高音變得很滑順，一路延伸上去
990pro齒音直接爆炸，弦樂進來直接爽啊刺阿爽阿刺阿......

It's insanely bright and sharp for hearing DT990 premium demo with DT990 tbh. I find it much softer and more appealing listening to the song itself rather than the demo

The dt 880 pro in this demo reminds me of the sound of headphones that are wired out of phase

instant like :). Basically the best sound demos on the internet. Btw edition versions (600ohm) sounds better and i would propably choose dt880 premium, they are the most natural sounding. But it would be hard decision 600 ohm 990 vs 600 ohm 880. 990 are wider basier and 880 are smoother, more calm with more intimate midrange.

These all suck frankly - The DT880 Special Edition wipes the floor with them all
