Some civilized country measurements would be great meters are what failures use as measurements. Feet is what winners use.

I'm kind of weird in the sense that I seem to find the little inconsequential things. Take for example, the bogie/road wheels. They show the rubber tire, and the detail showing the hollow tube structures that allowed flexing and also made them quieter. Pretty cool video.

Little know but the Germans knew of the T-34 in 1939 when some Sovuet diplomats saw an early Panzer V and asked is that your best tank? The Germans said yes and the diplomats shrugged and said ok if you think so. The Germans knew but were not completely suprised just caught off guard with small short barreled Panzer MkIII 5.0cm and V's 7.5cm. Within 6 months of fighting the Mk III's and V's had longer barreled guns giving them an equal fight.

No, the t34 was of poor build quality because Russia littlerly threw them together like a kid who forgot to do his English paper and put something together at the last minute. In terms of overall quality, reliability and numbers, the Sherman was the best tank. The German panthers and tigers were powerful but not reliable

A division of tigers or panthers can wipe out 5 divisions or t34s

Fun fact: About half of all T34's broke down due to mechanical faliures.
The engine had a general life span of only around 100 hours.
It was not reliable contrary to what many people believe.

Read a book from a soviet t 34 tanker. Mid war he was put on a lend lease m4 Sherman. He felt the M4 was FAR superior. Also remember, in 41, panzer IIIs commonly defeated t34s.

The pak 37 shooting nearly 30 times at it did happen. While simple history would have you believe that this is evidence of the t34's superiority, the reality is different. One should perhaps wonder in the first place why is it that the pak37 was able to fire 30shots at the t34 in the first place. A well placed shot could have disabled the tank, so could have a lucky shot. A tank doesnt need to blow up to be disabled after all and i guarantee you that the t34's crew didn't simply want to show off.
It was blind is what it was. The t34 and its later variants was a blind clumsy box of steel.
Famously known tank ace michael wittmann was able to destroy 12 t34's during an encounter in a stug 3 with a short barrelled 75mm gun meant to support infantry in the first place. The t34's for all their best efforts could not spot his stug 3 and were driving in every directions like headless chickens. Very poor visibility in a t34 but beyond that it was also a deadly trap for its own crew. If the tank was on fire ( which happened very often ), the crew almost never had the time to bail out because of its very cramped nature. Outside of combat its not rare to see reports of t34's simply not starting because the poor welding leaving enormous gaps was allowing mud and water to sip through and freeze overnight. The list goes on and on and on.

The t34 and its variants is dubbed the best tank of the war not for its superiority on the battlefield but for its availability and easy nature to manufacture which incidentally made it available. Farmers could assemble it and for a fraction of a single kv1 tank cost you could make 4 t34s.
That's really and only why it is dubbed the best tank.

That spot rightfully belongs to either the sherman and variants or the panzer 3. Perhaps i could also see an argument for the churchill. The t34 however, no.

I don't think it was the only BEST tank of ww2, but certainly one of them, along with kv-1, m4 sherman, panzers and many more
