Noticed you are using Airpods Pro. How are you connecting them to the Windows machine and still getting proper quality?

Btw, with a little work, you can overlap zones in FancyZones, to get more shapes in. I do this to allow a 27" center zone, 2 full height sides, and then also allow to split the side zones into two horizontally, for getting 2 command lines into each side zone. This lets me have a full 27" IDE in the center, and 4 command lines running docker logging for 4 specific microservices I want to see

Everything looks great on, I'm replaying fallout 3 on mine and it though I had to do a little light editing to two configuration files because it's not supported by default the payoff is great because it looks amazing with all the settings maxed out and with the wide view chefs kiss

It's just wonderful how Microsoft couldn't be bothered to implement taskbar functionality in Windows 11, so that vertical space benefit you were talking about is literally not possible, the taskbar is stuck on the bottom.

I had one of these for a few days. For a working environment, its fantastic. If youre looking for a gaming monitor? I found it was a lot more trouble than it was worth.

It was a finnicky process to setup on a game by game basis, not to mention the performance issues it entails along with having such a wide screen available it was downright headache inducing at times. This was the biggest turnoff for me.

Dont get me wrong, the monitor was cool, but just not for me for the reasons above.

I ended up sending it back and getting a 32" Samsung G7 and its been the best monitor ive ever owned. Paired with 2 AOC 144hz 24" monitors either side.

FABULOUS review and I'm just about to buy the one below tomorrow and I'm only hoping and praying that this is one of the good ones and not one that has many bad points but anyway this is the best I can see in New Zealand so I'm going for it it's 1700 NZD but hey we shall see. How does this work for someone that works from home and needs to share the screen all the time. Am I able to still just show once screen or it will show the full wide screen. That is one of the reason i have not got one yet. It looks weird when you are on a large wide screen and the person who is viewing you screen is just on a laptop screen or on a way smaller monitor.

When you factor in the true 10-bit color depth without FRC and compare it to a dual monitor setup with similar specs the cost difference suddenly is much more negligible. The new CRG9 is an absolute productivity beast...

I got Samsung's first Ultrawide before it got branded Odessey.
Now after multiple years i regret getting used to the 32:9 aspect ratio.

32:9 aspect ratio is horrible for streaming and recording most competitive gamed have issues with 32:9.
Example PubG cuts away the top and bottom of what a normal 16:9 aspect.
That is a huge change and makes it difficult to see up on a hill or bellow you while looking ahead.

If i want to only play on part of a ultrawide then i'd just take another normal monitor.

GPU power is less then 4k and thats the good part.
5k 5120 x 1440 = 7.372.800 pixels
4k 3840 x 2160 = 8.294.400 pixels

Can you play a game in one of the fancy zones set to Fullscreen mode or is that not possible?

FancyZones is one of a category of tools called tiling window managers. They're most common in Linux setups, but Windows has some, too. I say go give others a try. They're a lot quicker to use and adjust than FancyZones, which you have to do through its GUI. (They rely on keyboard shortcuts.)

Hi! Could yoy please clarify one doubt I had? While sharing the screen during MS Teams/Video calls, can only the part (the snapped window) will be shared or the entire 49 inch content gets shared to the audience? If someone is using seperate monitor, only the contents over that choosen monitor gets shared. Can this be configured in these ultrawides?

The unfortunate downside of gaming on this monitor is that you are a loser who should be raising the next generation not playing games

All you windows and mac users using these primitive weak snapping tools need to try actual tiling window managers like i3 or xmonad, it'll blow your mind.

My super ultrawide costs under $100 but it has a bezel running down the middle

Is FancyZones official, any idea how it running a VM on it works like does it recognize it as 3 seperate monitors? Nice review btw!!

I wasn't able to install Microsfot PowerToys. I have Windows 10 and followed instructions and it keeps saying setup failed. For this reason I found your video very frustrating.

34' is the sweet spot for me.

just 1 comment: is the distance between most left or most right and to your eyes comfortable enough? That's the only issue I worry about.
Other issue is that is good for work, entertainment, gaming and content creation.

Hi, does anyone know how the shortcut windows + arrow right/left works on this super ultra wide monitor? I mean, in the ultrawide one, it allocates the windows to the half right or left. But as these ultramonitors screen works with more windows, how does it works if I wanna put a specific window in the middle right, for example?

I think a monitor like this only adds value if you're a Windows user.

You should sit far long distance. Your desk depth is significantly less. You will end up with eye strain.
