Should you be blogging as a software developer? (and how much I earn from mine)

How cool is it to see your hard work and dedication from going to 1000 subscribers to over 16,000 subscribers since then. I'm sure it took many hours of dedication and work. Really good Video. Thank you for all the advice. I am also thinking to write a blog and was thinking to create my own website but After watching this I am thinking maybe I should stick to medium or something like that for a while at least till I get more traction and don't forget there are more strategies:

1. we can post first couple articles in medium for example then from there we can move people to the our own website for more profit. This way we can utilize both things large community + personal blog
2. repost some articles in medium or some sort of blogging platform maybe

As you say 99.9 percent of fulltime developers dont have own website .
I am an experieced java developer .i have own wordpress websites as well. Have to resume writing blog content . I got freelance project leads from my blog as well. 😅😅

Thank you for the advice! I used to blog some time ago and this video has inspired me to get back into it. Hashnode seems pretty cool, but something I'm really on the fence about is whether or not I should use my real name or a username there. It seems like most users have their blogs under their real names, which is fine, but I'm someone who doesn't keep much of a personal profile on the internet.

Enjoyed the video ♥ - if you are interested, a video on your personal blog setup would be fun. It can be cumbersome but as someone who likes having things to chew on on the side, I mostly started developing my own blog/personal site from scratch as a pet project I could always check in on.
