This is one of those movies that gets way too much credit. It's HORRIBLE.

I've been watching this movie since I was a kid, I'm 36 now and I just now noticed that the millennium falcon is at this gas dinner

10 yrs old when this movie came out. The memories of the time come back whenever I watch it.

I didn’t understand this scene what happened and what was the point

I love how everyone was horrified by it singing and dancing rather than having a dangerous murderous creature in the diner.

That thing that comes out of the stomach is fake.

Whoever made the special is going to be sacked, pink slipped, canned, booted, axed. In other words, FIRED!

Anybody else catch the Millenium Falcon outside the diner?

People had to be high on drugs to find this movie remotely funny....So awful 👎🏻

Am feel sory for todays kids they doesnt understand this sesne of humor... Also asking myself is it possible to watch one movie almost 30 years and always laughin, what a masterpiece!

The best part of this scene is not only the obvious reference back to Alien (complete with John Hurt), but also the reference back to the classic Warner Brothers cartoon.

That was my favorite scene in Spaceballs.. The made fun of Alien coming out of John Hurt's character. Instead of the face hugger, he just ate the special in the diner...

I didn’t get that was John Hurt from Alien until just now! 😮

All these years later I’m just realizing it was John Hurt in both and that’s why he says not again 🤦‍♂️

Back when Hollywood didn't take itself so seriously and actors were happy to ham it up.

The first time I saw this scene, I laughed so hard I cried. It was so random and unexpected I couldn’t handle it. A Mel Brooks classic!

What's really weird is that puppet is better looking than the original Chestburster.

A customer at my work had the singing alien on her tee-shirt and I asked "is that from Spaceballs" and she just lit up. Apprently I was the first person to recognize the character since she got the shirt.

I remember watching this as a kid and freaking out at it because it is a rather scary situation scene but then the little chestburster starts singing and dancing like a very familiar frog I've seen in an old cartoon and that's when it went from scary to weird for me lol.

This is actually the third time Sir John Hurt worked with Mel Brooks. Mel produced The Elephant Man, though they kept his involvement on the QT because they didn't want people thinking it was a comedy. (Scuttlebutt is Anne Bancroft got the lead role because she was sleeping with the producer. 😁) He was uncredited as the big J.C. in The Last Supper scene of History of the World. And here, he's reprising one of his most famous roles with a comedic spin!

I hold the fringe opinion that this is the funniest movie ever made somehow I’ve seen it 100 times and still almost faint from laughing.

At least this alien had legs, the original Alien seemed to have a couple of silly tiny wheels.
