I turned that lot into a restaurant 😂
ОтветитьBase game starter homes are the original ten minute build challenges
ОтветитьWILLOW CREEK GIRLIES STAND UP 💕
ОтветитьI think that I understand the thinking of Maxis when it comes to these sparse builds. This is a starter home. It's supposed to be cheap, so sims can start to live. But if I'm right, why have these expensive doors? When I have removed floors, there are expensive tiles under the rooms. Tina Tinker is the best example. Tina's house is expensive because there's hundreds of dollars worth of tiles under the first floor. So, now that I have thought it through? Maxis doesn't think they just slap things together. If it works, fine, if it doesn't, we might fix it later, is Maxis' thinking. But don't hold your breath for them to fix anything. There are bugs in the badly thought-out programming that have been there since the release of the base game, and they are still there.
ОтветитьI renovated this home for a new Sim family I created. I too often question what the hell were they thinking with some of these base homes. I did make it more mid-century modern desert home though. It starts with that vibe, it just needed a push to get it there. But since I added two sims to a household that already had a person living it it, I added a second floor and a second bathroom. I liked my result. Love your videos btw.
ОтветитьBRUHH IM USING NOOKSTONE RN LMFAO
ОтветитьIt’s oddly realistic though. My first apartment had an overhead light in the kitchen and lights in the bathrooms and that was it. My roommates and I had to take a trip to Walmart to find cheap floor lamps so we could see after the sun went down.
Ответитьjust bring back the color wheel EA😩😩
ОтветитьFunny that i stumbled into this video, i started playing a household in this place just a few days ago.
By selling some stuff (mostly the exact things you did buy, although i purchased different articles) i was able to extend the bathroom immediately, then i rearranged the kitchen with only small replacements with cheaper surfaces, also the family i was playing started with a toddler, so i had to buy at least the basics to let him eat/potty/sleep, his bed was literally in the parent's room but it's not like i had any other choices, really.
The house was pretty functional overall, so at that point it became just a matter of working and getting promoted as fast as possible to really start changing: as of now i have a pretty huge basement, a pool adjacent to the patio, all rooms in the original area have been extended (albeit the bathroom is still small to my tastes, but oh well, the second floor and the basement both have much bigger bathrooms so it's not the end of the world.
It all comes down how much space you wanna save for outdoors activities, i liked the idea of the patio/garden/pool, so i had to restrain myself with the size of the original area, with options to expand vertically rather than horizontally, overall i like how it's turning out, it's not complete yet, more because of wanting to progress so many other households rather than just one, but it's not bad: i added lots of vases under the windows, pendant plants (the mom is a plant scientist, so it fits pretty much, reminds me of Arrakis' changes from Dune to Dune Messiah), eco windows or appliances, four fruit trees, two decorative ones, but i did leave that weird floor next to the rooftop, i extended it a bit and turned a portion into a ultra-tiny balcony for the parents' room, just to have one.
It's been fun to slowly transform it into what it is, i believe now it genuinely looks pretty nice.
it;s literally the hause of my new family.
Ответитьevery time kayla talks about how bad the base game homes are, I always think about the person who actually created it WATCHING her videos lol
Ответитьbathroom has no window
ОтветитьBecause I don't play properly, my legacy family live in this house haha
ОтветитьAm I the only one that redoes pretty much all starter homes but then I make them too expensive for starter homes like I remodeled a home recently in The Sims and I made it 40,000 Simmons
ОтветитьOasis Springs is one of my least favorite places to play in, so I've forced myself to rebuild all of the lots to fit a more Chilean vibe. Specifically San Pedro de Atacama. It has been QUITE the under taking lol 😅
Ответить“Maybe I should- no.”
Basically Kayla’s entire channel.
A swatch update for the base game would be nice. I want more cool toned wood to match other packs. I do think making the porch smaller could have gave you extra cash for decorations.
(they need to go back and update the older houses. maybe have simmers do it.)
I redid this base game home to be a vintage 70's theme house!
ОтветитьTbh, sandtrap flat was one of the first if not THE first house i used for the sims 4. It holds a fond place in my heart.
Ответитьnormally i 100% agree, but this is supposed to be a sort of mid-century modern style build - a lot of the ones in this part of oasis springs are that style - and "weird long empty walls" in the front is kinda one of their defining features 💀
Ответитьi use this house all the time and i completely demolish most of it 😂😂😂
ОтветитьOmg I'm not a huge builder, but I just tried to renovate this exact build recently. The timing is impeccable, thank youu!
ОтветитьThis is so funny because I LOVE this house.
Ответитьi always watch you on x1.5 speed, then you play normally 😂😂 LOVE YOU ANYWAY HAHA 💕🤣
Ответить3 doors to the outside. Why?
ОтветитьLOL this is the house I chose and renovated in my sims world
ОтветитьI like it great job
ОтветитьThere’s a full white bed but not with wood I don’t think but you would need custom content
ОтветитьYou can give them make overs! Then build them a house ❤🎉
ОтветитьI always thought starter homes were supposed to feel miserable
ОтветитьI moved a set of sim in to that house I had to renovate it as well it was driving me bonkers that that they only used the wall lights and the lamps . house name is reno-Sandtrap Flat
Ответить…that’s my go to starter house 😭
ОтветитьI just started a new save, and this is the house I picked. 😂 I didn't know what to do with it.
ОтветитьI have played in Sandtrap Flat and honestly I really like the roofing idea. Wasn't executed that well but it's the most interesting basegame starter house.
ОтветитьI couldn't stop looking at that one Get Together Column being left on one corner and hope that Kayla would still notice it.😂
Ответитьwhy don’t u give a full cinematic view of the new house at the end??
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьI feel like Oasis Springs does not get a lot of love, and I hate that. So seeing you pay it some love in this episode is amazing.
ОтветитьThis is actually one of my favorite houses in Oasis springs and I always do black accents for windows, give it a second story, no roof, I make the overhang patio thingie an outdoor lounge area, and I expand the kitchen and bathroom slightly every time❤
Ответитьomg I love this starter house 😂😂
ОтветитьThis is where our dear leader started the cult 🥲
ОтветитьGod what I would give to have those tack on room dividers for flooring changes. I think id feel a lot better with making the kitchen/living room different floors.
ОтветитьThis is hilarious since I usually use this house 😆
ОтветитьI wish they did the bedspreads like they did in TS2 where the same swatches were used for all the beds.
ОтветитьThis house is my least favorite starter too. I either usually completely renovate it or bulldoze it and put something else here. I hate that outdoor ceiling thing too. It's pointless with all the holes in it. Honestly... bulldozing it is sadly the best option. I think you made it look better but that's just because you're such a talented builder. I totally also agree with the swatch update that is highly needed.
ОтветитьI don't really update newer builds either, maybe just fit them to my playing style but full renovation is unnecessary.
ОтветитьNow you should do a remodel of this without a budget but you have to keep the same walls/layout.
