Thank you for listing prices, and handicapped accessibility. Nothing worse than arriving and finding out you cannot partake due to a wheelchair.

Thanks for the fabulous video of the Poconos! I am 80 and a former resident of the area. In my retirement I live in Tucson Arizona and this video is so comforting to watch when I feel a tinge of homesickness. I loved seeing old and favorite spots of mine as well as the new changes taking place. Great job!

“They paved paradise and put up a parking lot”. That’s not only a song, it’s how Pennsylvania plans it’s towns. All I could see in your areal shots is asphalt and parking spots.

I have lived in the Lehigh Valley all of my 56 years. I have had 16 relatives who lived in the Poconos from Stroudsburg to Milford to Scranton to Carbondale to Hemlock Farms to Lake Wallenpaupak. I an spent enormous amount of time in these areas visiting, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, eating, walking, talking and just being in awe of the beauty of the Poconos and the incredible sandwich places, ice cream places and such. I will always miss Sophia's in Marshalls Creek and the original Mary Anne owner of Mary Annes ice cream. Two big favs of mine for many years when they were there.

This video is a great video to show why the Poconos are such a great area to live, work and play.

Your video is extremely well researched and presented. Understanding the Poconos takes time for most people. Unlike a designated state park or a national park, the Poconos is an area with no clearly defined boundaries and recreational attractions are scattered all over the region. You did an amazing job putting it all together, your video should get recognition(or maybe even a payment) from The State of Pennsylvania. And your film making skills are superb ! Very professional narration as well. Subscribed !!!

We just came back from vacationing in this area. We visited about half of the places you mentioned. Streets were clean, we didn't see any rude city folks there. We enjoyed this area a lot. Love your video, it is very comprehensive. I can imagine it took quite a bit of time to film all these footages. You did a great job on this video and introducing this area to the world.

Not sure if he mentioned it, but when we stayed in the Poconos we went to this place called Bear Creek. It was a large nature preserve where we saw lots of wildlife, including massive bucks and black bear tracks. There is also a dam right down the road that looks over an absolutely MASSIVE lake surrounded by cliffs. If your staying in the Poconos I’d definitely recommend checking it out and Bear Creek Village also has some good places to eat and some amazing views.

My family and I will be traveling to Lake harmony in October. I tried to access the guidebook site you mentioned but it's saying it can't be reached. I'm looking for wheelchair accessible things to do, we are excited about the train ride, is there anything you can recommend or somewhere I can get more information about wheelchair friendly things to do?

Just came back from that area for vacation. It's nice yes. Beautiful yes. I'd stay away from the resorts (the cheaper ones) tho...unless you don't mind NY/NJ city slickers littering, being noisy in every way possible, arguing, breaking things, equipment/ vending etc. We couldn't use half the stuff they had there because they took over an area and spoke in ways i didn't want my kids to hear or the unsupervised kids ran amuck and broke the arcade games. I think Jr lost more quarters than he used.
Jim Thorpe was crowded beyond belief do to construction. There is 1 main road in and out...good luck with that one. I did find 2 narrow side roads to get back into Thorpe tho. DO NOT VISIT THORPE IN A PICKUP TRUCK,...We did and it was a huge mistake. Parking anywhere is a nightmare expect for lot by the train station. The train ride there was disappointing because it goes 30 min up the track and then the engine swaps to the opposite end and takes you back...125$ for a family of 5.
Bushkill Falls, wow what a place but the water level is so low right now the main fall is the only one worth seeing. We did the red trail, the long one and the damn falls at the back were 100% dried up...nothing to see there. We visited other resorts for different activities and well same thing there too, just disappointed. It drizzled...and I mean barely. ...a few drops here n there. They closed the mountain coaster for it and said no refunds! I said the sign says stay 80ft back dry 180ft back wet....um ok they acted like it poured. We are getting our refund, I just had to get loud about it. 102$ to park and ride it for 5... There weren't enough staff and most the activities were closed because of that too.
That's a real honest review of the Poconos. If you have alot of coin to spend, pay up and do it right. The more you pay, the happier you will be. I now know for next time, hopefully this helps someone from making the same mistakes I did.

Yeah to bad people from the city came here and totally destroyed the area. They don't show it on here but there is trash everywhere on the side of the roads. The city people also brought with them drugs and crime. It really is a shame you should have seen this area 20 years ago.
