The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin Audiobook

I hate intros to books, it’s just a way you put a worthless name on a noteworthy piece of literature.

Why would you leave out a section in Franklin’s autobiography?!

You read it as:
“Having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in which I was born and bred, to a state of affluence and some degree of reputation in the world, and having gone so far through life with a considerable share of felicity, my posterity may like to know, as they may find some of them suitable to their own situations, and therefore fit to be imitated.”

But you left out a part between “…considerable share of felicity…” and “…my posterity may like to know…”

That section reads as this:
“…the conducing means I made use of, which with the blessing of God so well succeeded…”

It should read like this:

“Having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in which I was born and bred, to a state of affluence and some degree of reputation in the world, and having gone so far through life with a considerable share of felicity, the conducing means I made use of, which with the blessing of God so well succeeded,
my posterity may like to know, as they may find some of them suitable to their own situations, and therefore fit to be imitated.”

I now see that you seem bias in your readings. Is it that you are wanting to keep peoples minds believing that Benjamin Franklin was an Atheist or at best a deist?

He was neither. I’m not saying he was a Christian, but he had a belief in God and that God’s hand guided the affairs of men.

Why is this an hour shorter than other versions?
