ОтветитьEV's that make noise when driving are mandatory in Europe. It's a pedestrian safety measure. If you can hear it coming you are less likely to walk out in front of it when crossing the road.

ОтветитьThe battery protection is simply a function within the software that automatically will limit the charging to 80% which is the recommendation for all pre lfp battery EV’s to extend battery life unless the owner switches it off.
This is only a function which can be switched off as charging to 100% will on occasion be required. It is not a detrimental function it is merely an extra function available on VWG MEB platform cars.
Being an EX bmw mechanic of 20+ yrs I wouldn’t believe the hype, they use smoke and mirrors and build cars the average guy would struggle to repair, built in obsolescence! 😮

ОтветитьNearly bought one in 2021 in UK. Problem was they were quoting 6 months delivery and it kept moving back and back so cancelled. Nice car but it’s a bit bland and still expensive.

ОтветитьI am not a fan of Audi. The irony is they are developing new ICE engines by Skoda.
I own a Q3 and SQ5 and a 3P. Never will I buy an Audi again. Parts from VAG are dear as poison and you need a good Euro servicer. The Q series handle well however the front end will need to be replaced one day. Eg control arms , ball joints and sway bays.
Those Audi dealers were arrogant entities when Covid was on and have the nerve to charge $7000 dealer delivery. Now they are ringing prior customers with the leading line “my dealer principal asked me to call you to offer a special offer” - as if. The dealer principal wouldn’t know me from a bar of soap.

ОтветитьAudi is a luxury car brand so you expect them to be expensive. Their ICE cars are more expensive than other ICE cars. I can’t afford one, but if people want it and can afford it then go for it. I would rather people drove EVs than ICE cars.

ОтветитьI've got to say, Sam, that I don't follow some of your comparisons between vehicles. A Tesla Model 3 or Y is not as high-end of a car as an Audi, so you'd expect there to be a price difference between them. You wouldn't compare two ICE vehicles based upon their range as the most important criteria. Tesla's engineering and their ability to quickly drive down costs of EVs is nothing short of amazing, but that doesn't mean buyers don't want more than their vehicles offer.
For people interested in long-distance driving with their EV, the supercharger network is what's most compelling about a Tesla. Hassle-free compared to the third-party charging companies.
How fast their software department and platform department copy from SAIC.

ОтветитьI still don’t know why Audi exists in VWs portfolio. Low end/mainstream= VW. High end = Porsche. Where does Audi sit? They’re literally for VW customers who aren’t smart buyers. There isn’t a car they make that beats or equals their competition. Would you buy a gussied up Audi over a BMW or Benz that doesn’t come from a VW Tiguan. At least u don’t get a cheap platform upsold by $10k+. They should be more compared to Acura and Infiniti and Volvo.

ОтветитьNot impressed. Its not just about the car. Its about the whole process from buying to servicing, to upgrading if desired. As a whole this is just a bad buy when there is a clear alternative that is just better. Sorry not sorry.

ОтветитьAudi blows. I own an A7. Nothing but issues. My MX I’ve owned since 2016 is mind numbingly good. No a single issue in nearly 8 years. I have never owned a car this long and my wife still loves it!
ОтветитьNo ioniq 5 or EV6 can charge at 350kw, 240 is the max. But they are very good due to the charging curve. Which Tesla sucks at. In any case this Audi is far over my price range and for most of the normal people.
ОтветитьImproved yes but still disappointing relative to the value you get from Tesla. Slow charging, slightly less range and way less acceleration. Just goes to show how far out in front Tesla really is

ОтветитьAll EVs today should have LFP batteries that you can charge to 100% without degradation and haul significantly less weight around compared to lithium ion where you're only supposed to charge to 80-90%.
You'll get a bit less range, but 90% of the people will still have plenty of range.
Q4 etron = id4 more expensive
It is not worth. Better id4 , ceaper, same car
