I don't mind Fire/Fighting-types in and of themselves, but like I said, we've had them for the last 3 generations straight. And I kinda get why Emboar is one since he's based somewhat off professional wrestlers, but Blaziken and Infernape seem to have that secondary type a bit unnecessarily.

That'd be very interesting! I've never done a Nuzlocke Challenge myself, but I've seen a lot of people doing them, and I think having it as an actual game mode (if they could somehow incorporate those kind of mechanics) would provide a new challenge for the people who might be tired of the game functioning basically the same way every time.

I'm partial to Charizard or Hydreigon for a mount myself, but to each their own. :)

Frankly, I think Yveltal SCREAMS Dark-type. I think you're onto something with a Dark/Flying typing, too, so I wouldn't be surprised about that. Xerneas, I'm not too sure about, although it may be a Psychic-type or a Psychic/something hybrid.

I know! I've never played HG/SS (I didn't have a DS until recently, and I decided to just jump into the Gen V games), but I've seen gameplay footage and such, and it's a feature I hope they implement into future games.

Gen V is one of my favorites. I like how they combined bug and fire. I didn't think that would ever be possible. Some of the type combos i think would be cool are bug/ice, ice/fire, and water/fire.

So. It seems like theres a lot of fellow trainers here. I want x and y but I only have a DSi. Do you all recommend the 3DS? Is it fun? I've heard it gives headaches..Idk I'd like some opinions.

if u get a hedache just turn off the 3d and u'll be fine and yeah id recommend getting a 3ds

Honestly, it doesn't seem like it be worth the trouble to use whatever 3D feature it comes with. I don't need the graphics literally popping out at me, I just want to play the damn game, you know? :P

Exactly, I feel the system could have been so much better if instead of it being a 3Ds it was an HDs, no need for the 3d but if it had great graphics like the Wii U on a handheld it would be so awesome. I personally hope that the next handheld they stop doing the whole "DS" thing. The two screens is nice, but im kinda done with all them. DS, DSlite, DSi, DSixl, 3DS, 3DSxl. Im just done with everything being a "DS"

This video was made WAY before the reveal of the "Mega Evolution" concept, and "Mewthree" was what everyone was calling it, as I mentioned in the video, for the lack of the official name.

Im playing X and Y right now. And fennekin becomes fire psychic.

there's a new ds called the 2DS out now its like a 3DS but without the 3d effect. (personally i thing its just crap. it dosent fold and it looks rubbish. It is relativley cheap though, about $150 or £100.)

Hey, thanks for sending me this message! I've actually owned the 2DS since the day it came out on October 12th, along with Y! :3 It is a fantastic system, though it may look like crap. Having owned a DS AND a DSi before, I know that after closing, and opening the system constantly, the hinges weaken. This will not be a problem for the 2DS. I have a case for it, and I like it a lot. Thanks for taking your time to tell me this. :3

I'm watching this video in 2017 after I've beaten Pokemon X, and I facepalmed at the mewthree scene, anyone else?

Five years later, my thoughts on x and y are:
Starters: Chespin- Pretty cool, final stage is really cool too. It became the fighting type this time, thank God. Fennekin- Cute, but final stage is meh. At least it didn't become Fire Fighting. Quite the opposite in fact. It became Psychic. FINALLY! Froakie- also cute, and the final stage is AWESOME, and with it's hidden ability Protean, its OP. Its dark type, btw.
Mewthree: its actually a mega evolution for Mewtwo. Its cool, but its too OP.
Character customization: I liked being able to wear other clothes besides the ones you start with, but girls definitely got better treatment with it, since sleeveless apparel are exclusive to females. At least Sun and Moon fixed that issue, but it still took 3 years for that to happen.
Riding Pokémon- in addition to Gogoat, you can ride its pre evo, Skiddo, Rhyhorn, and Mamoswine. Sun and Moon were better though since it removed HMs in favor of them, but it was cool in X and Y, too.

Overall, they were good games with a good story, but the number of new Pokémon was too small.
