I like that Tobirama probably looked to Minato, a proclaimed genius, and saw he didn't catch on to what was wrong with the picture with the reault of the syrup gun. He then probably glanced at Sasuke, another claimed prodigy who has eyes to analyze jutsu and he hadn't caught on either. Finally he looks to Naruto, the guy everyone says is an idiot, and sees that he's already in sage mode preparing a jutsu, as the only guy who caught up to the shift in tactics even before Tobirama

The writing, everything is perfect. Might of been the most technical battles fought throughout the arc. All the best minds from different generations hyper analyzing the fight to come up with the best decision. Tobirama’s genius fight iq, and Naruto’s precise fighting instincts made for the perfect counter.
