Big heart felt shout out from an old guy in the PNW (OR) to you and yours brother. As a little white kid, from middle-of-nowhere Oregon, goin through elem. sch. in the 60s, its been quite an American saga I have mostly witnessed "from a far", on tv/radio etc, and realistically - clueless to the Ghetto, my friend. Bless you for sharing, your friend TW
ОтветитьSeeing your tears while your baby danced in the background made this one of the most moving videos I've seen in a while. Peace.
ОтветитьThe lyrics are golden, but it's Elvis himself who made it so damn real to us
ОтветитьHe helped us get it.
ОтветитьAs a white person I hear you!!
ОтветитьI was watching a black college kid debating someone about how bad he had it.
Anyway, long story short , the man asked once he graduated if he was going back to help his community. His answer was, why is my community my problem.
The song was first called The Cycle
ОтветитьI heard this in 1969 it was my favorite song I was 12 and cryed everytime I played the 45 on our turn table record player. That was so long ago.
ОтветитьI have always thought that he (Elvis) really felt the songs he sang.
ОтветитьYou just gave your people (fans) a gift and me as well. You just showed it takes a real man to let his tears.
ОтветитьGod bless you. It takes a real man to open up his emotions. It means your in touch. I wont forget you and your son.
ОтветитьYou're not wrong. ✌️❤️
ОтветитьI’m crying with you.❤
ОтветитьThis man will touch your soul through his music, he has spoken truth before rappers came out.
He was from the ghetto and that's why he could sing this song with real emotions
Listen to If I Can Dream
ОтветитьGo look after your child, ffs.
ОтветитьGod love you Im herr
ОтветитьPlease pick up the baby and let it interact with you?
ОтветитьThat song was in 1974 it's 2024, can we all agree enough is enough. Time for a change! Let's get our minds together.
ОтветитьI cried with you my man.
ОтветитьYou know what I love about this video of Elvis? He never once smiled about the song while singing it because He took it seriously.
ОтветитьThis songs guts me every time
ОтветитьElvis was born in tupelo Mississippi, and he never wrote any of his songs! He actually had a twin stillborn 30 minutes before him! Could you imagine 2 Elvis Presleys singing together or apart?
ОтветитьGreat song
ОтветитьI hit "Subscribe" when I saw you cry about the truth of the situation. Elvis was more than a star... he was a gift to us all. Thanks for sharing this!
ОтветитьYes Elvis was the real deal . A gift from God. So glad I lived in his life time . What would the world be without him.
ОтветитьI remember hearing this way back when it was done and after hearing it I was having to hide, because tough guys didn't cry back then. Right, guess I wasn't tough as I thought I was.
ОтветитьActually, Mac Davis wrote that song and he was one of the greatest song writers of all time. But nobody's ever done it like Elvis did it. And, by the way, your son is going to be just fine. He's got a great Dad on his side.
ОтветитьLook at Elvis face and body language
He meant everything word he sang
And then finished with a yell of anger
First time hearing this myself. That song hit hard, and it hits harder that a white man sang about it. In this day and age, people might say that Elvis was being racist, but I didn't get that vibe in his voice. I heard a human being singing out of pain and empathy.
Your uncut reaction just added veracity and validity to the same. Thanks for keeping the recording as it was.
God bless your family and career.
❤
ОтветитьElvis definitely knew poverty and what it's like to live in the ghetto. He was one of us.
ОтветитьDon't ever apologize for having feelings!! ❤️
Ответить😭🫶🙏❤️
ОтветитьGood beautiful
ОтветитьLike Karol said, NEVER apologize for showing your emotions. Be emotional, and let your children see that it’s OK for a man to be emotional. Men are emotional too, but they are conditioned to hide and suppress them, and that is ultimately destructive to their relationships, especially marriages. The more you are in touch with your emotions as a man, the easier it will be to understand what people are going through, because emotions are the “voice” of the human spirit.
Loved your reaction, brother. Even though I didn’t grow up in the ghetto, my heart aches for those that are living it. By you showing your heart, it greatly ministered to me, and caused me to really feel where you were coming from. That’s the power of transparency. If people want to mock you for that, then they are ignorant.
I’m going to smash that like and subscribe button too.
God bless
i am the same usa poor uk poor the same the colour of your skin does not matter poor is poor listen to elvis if i can dream
ОтветитьNow maybe everyone understands why Elvis was the king he didn't just understand his side of the tracks he understood yours mine and everybody else's is Elvis grew up poor
ОтветитьNever be ashamed for your emotional reactions. People love to see genuine reactions and people and this is some of the realest shit i've ever seen. I commend you for being true to you and putting a vulnerable version of yourself out there.
ОтветитьI think...BUMP BUMP BUMP !will! BUMP BUMP BUMP! THAT ! *BUMP BUMP BUMP!!!!
ОтветитьLove ❤️
ОтветитьPeople also dont realize that all nationalities have ghettos. It not just thr blacks but people tend to "stigmatize" the ghetto with the black nationality
ОтветитьExcuses!
ОтветитьI am a white woman and I come from the ghetto. It's not just the black community. This video hits home to a lot of us. I've seen it exactly like he sings it.
ОтветитьThere's more of us that understand than you think. People need to care about what happens to another person. Color shouldn't matter when it comes to life or death. Elvis seen what was happening even back then. NO child or mother should have to go through that.
ОтветитьRespect sir.🙏
ОтветитьLove this letter, powerful voice, message deep and anguish...
ОтветитьThis song always makes me cry. Every. Single. Time.
ОтветитьI get it. I get if for you especially. I'm so sorry for things that have happened to you in your life. It has mine too. Don't apologize for being human and having compassion for your fellow man and those that you love. If someone can listen to this song and not be touched by it, there is something wrong with them. God bless you. I pray that your little one in the background grows up to have a very blessed life. But I want to stress to you, that I get it.
