the flying off in a random diriection thing is not only a misclick issue but I found can also be a hotkey issue, my eve-o preview uses the numbers 1, 2, 3 to quickly switch between my 3characters, somehow my hotkey for 1 also got set to approach so every time I would switch to my main it would start randomly approaching whatever I had selected last. drove me insane till I figured out what it was. can happen when people accidently hit q as well as I think q is the original hotkey

I was a new player and got ganked in an Iteron at one of the choke point systems on my way to jita with meta4 mods I'd salvaged. Very low isk stuff really. Well the guy that jumped me did so just because he was bored. He said as much in system chat. I put a 1M kill right bounty on him and forgot about it. Two weeks later I get a notice that the kill right has been used. When I checked it the guy had lost a Jump Freighter. Evidently he had forgotten about it too. 🤭

If I log out undocked my ship is safe??

Fell asleep. Woke up in a pod. That's my habit. Happened exactly 3 times in every month. I have learned to stop doing that though. I now just dock and quit.

The dumbest thing I ever did was fly a firetail directly into a red flashing gnosis.

I was doing some single frigate 1v4 arena fights a while back and went to get another breacher. Manually added drones, a mod or two, but then used the Fit Ship button to speed up the process. The fit I had saved did not have any drones. I undocked and headed into the arena, moved towards the first opponent, and noticed I couldn't see the drone window. Tried to figure out which hot key opens the drone window, and then realized it wasn't there b/c there were no drones. So, autofitting a saved fit that has no drones will throw out drones that are already in your ship! Not nearly the same magnitude as that Paladin loss described by @DisturbedKid47 :_( but still something to note.

Don't put bounties on gankers. They will simply kill themselves with an alt and pocket that ISK. You are literally paying them. in fact I wouldn't mess with bounties at all as it is simply to easy for players to turn it to their own advantage.

What is the name of the flat ship attacking while player was afk?

I've been playing eve now over 12 years, had 11 accounts, both PvP, Indy, Mining, PvE you name it I've done it. Been into wars from Fountain War to simple Faction Warfare. And if there is one boring side of game that IS PVP. I literally like everything else in the game but PvP. That is just so damn stupid in this game. I usually told my friends if you like PvE kinda game Eve is for you. If you like PvP then you are in a wrong place.

Win by not playing. Or play like a god and complain that the game is dieing because there are to few sheep left to statpad on and playing at 110% does not give back the return endorphin rush from back in the day. Even the f2p sheep are a pitfull sight to hotpach this decline of tryharding.

Forgetting to stop overloading mods. This happens to me often.

One of the dumbest thins I've done (ok 2): 1. I autopiloted out from a low sec pocket in a black ops ship and afked thinking i was in a pod... Came back and realized I was tackled on a gate... Lol
2. I undocked in a Kronos (marauder for those that didn't know), warped to a fight and realized... I don't have an armor rep... (Switched it to my black ops ship).... Still upset i did that...

I didn't make the mistake, but while I was brand new I was mining in high sec, with a miner set for speed and warp ability. A guy pulled right next to me to try to gank me, and just as he was opening fire, I was just hitting warp to my station, just 1 short jump away. Came right back, and looted his corpse after CONCORD blasted him. I put a 10mil bounty on him after, just for good measure 😂

An excellent tutorial (?) =, should be made mandatory for everyone starting off, and for veterans too!
Been on Eve for 13 years:
1. Lost a Nergal to the burner because didn't notice that my cap battery was offline - capped out
2. Lost a Nergal to the burner because forgot to turn off the MWD - 500% bloom
3. Lost a Nergal to the burner because forgot to launch the drones
4. Lost a Nergal to the burner because was in the wrong fit
5. Lost a Stabber to the Concord for attacking a Venture in HS whilst thinking it was low sec
6. Missed a hauler kill because forgot to activate the scram
7. Lot a 2B Mach to NPCs in a lvl 4 mission because I was not paying attention to my pathway and got caught in a maze of asteroids.

The first mistake is playing the game.

Yes, these obvious and silly mmistakes happen often, but... i was hoping i would learn some less obvious but common mistakes from this video... taking up first 4 or 5 spots with the "DUH!" ones seems a bit like a waste of time and potential to actually teach people something...

As said in other comments, you got a great "radio" voice my friend. You should seek to do something lucrative with it. Video was great also.

The dumbest thing I've ever done happened just a little over a week ago. I was in HiSec in a Marauder class Paladin, assisting a Drake with a Gala combat site. I Preloaded my turrets then clicked on an enemy NPC in my overview who had died just before I clicked to lock it. As a result, I fired on the Drake because my safety was turned off. Along came CONCORD, and away went about 2 billion ISK. RIP

In my first PvP battle I was doing an explo site in an astero I locked him but I forgot to change target from the can leading to the drones attack that and not him so I died

i have had russian anom farmers lock me up a couple times in high sec... then nek minnit.. they shoot me.. and concord saves me..

I think the dumbest thing I have ever done, was popped through a wh from another.... and there was a camp of 3 others... I ran back through the wh to where I came from, and forgot (thought I had) to warp after recloaking and had an eon to escape but got decloaked by a collision lol

I see PVP as a chaotic bear party with drunks and loud mouth chatters boxes lashing about with their personal stories of ill gotten gains.

One thing you missed is, if you target a 'suspect' and manage to take them down, you are engaged for a 15minute time period and if your undocked the player you killed can freely engage you.

I went to sleep with my Avatar undocked. It survived.

13: not having an adequate understanding of how drunk your friends are. I once nailed down two Brutix Navys while I was in a curse. My friends were "on the way". I've Got the BNIs capped and we have entered drone slap fight mode. The guys in alliance that I was in comms with then began having the most ludicrous drunken argument over what ships are the best to beat a BNI. R.I.P. Curse, you were replaced.

The biggest mistake was that i played with this for 12 year. After then i noticed that CCP ruined this game.

some dude chose to suspect bait my curse in a one v one in hi sec.....in a damivik. he learned about cap stability and a drone kite super fast

If you are doing any of these mistakes then... you are never going to improve in PVP because you are not even doing the most basic things.
