There a detail garage own by chemical guys , and even the professional there say they are crazy coming up with all these extra products and kits that dont work and they recomend what i really need and not sell me extra stuff i dont need.
ОтветитьThis is by far the most useful presentation I have seen on this topic. Can you please tell me: Where exactly does this video fit in the refinishing process? I.e. I have painted my car basecoat clearcoat and have some orange peel. I can wet sand that out to 4000 grit. Do I jump right into the DA with your compound? How many months should I wait before attempting any kind of polishing? Thank you.
ОтветитьLove both of my rupes polishers but nothing is quicker on hard clear than the rotory..thanks for this channel alot of great advice and products
ОтветитьHow do i buy your kit ?
ОтветитьCordless dual action polishers are a better option so you don't have to worry about keeping a cord off the paint and worry about scratching.
ОтветитьThis guy explains very very well!
ОтветитьSorry, but I’ll never stop priming my pads. Has nothing to do with the product. A pad cuts more as you work out from the middle. Very little cut in the middle, a lot of cut at the ends. The pad needs to have that initial lubrication at the ends to keep a consistent cut throughout that pass.
ОтветитьThank you for this amazing video. I've only recently starting using a DA and I've been watching lots of videos to better my technique. Many of the videos I've watched online suggest to only use the weight of the machine, and not to exert any pressure, but it makes more sense to add a little pressure to keep the pad against the clearcoat properly. One quick question, but I've started using TW One & Done, and although I'm fairly happy with the results so far, I was wondering if I would benefit from switching to a soft finishing pad and a little more One & Done to add a deeper glossier finish, or is this just a waste of time on an all-in-one product?
ОтветитьYou should go over sonax ex 04-06 vs perfect finish because to the new guys that got a da polisher but sees that the perfect finish is for rotary only and the ex 0406 is the da version.should be a faq video.
ОтветитьThank you sir..! excellent demonstration..!
ОтветитьThanks for the informative video. When you mention your 4.5 polish speed, is that just for this Rupes polisher or all polishers in general? So do all polishers have the same equation to speed?
ОтветитьTodd. Great vid! Great results!
ОтветитьThe issue with “too much product” is you clog up your pads too quickly. It does not effect the breakdown of the product
ОтветитьI have a black (gelcoat) boat. I can do a better job and achieve a much higher gloss than than the “professional” boat retailers in my area. I only use a DA! You just have to know how to use it and figure out which polishing compounds work for your paint or gelcoat.
Ответитьok after your intro here...i have to ask you how you clean your pads because obviously if you dont you get residual "debris" (for lack of a better word) stuck in a pad then tranfer to another part later on. OR do you just use a pad a few times then replace? im new to this whole thing so i am starting fresh with no bad baits. please educate me so i can get my project to turn out looking like a professional was at least in the same room. Thanks again
Ответитьwatching my 3rd video of your series. very very useful information...subscribed ! thank you again , sir
ОтветитьEsoteric is really one of the best professional channels to learn about paint correction.
ОтветитьSuper informative, thank you. Is it possible to remove a slight orange peel from a fresh painted car with compound and polish? 2 coats of clear coat were applied. Thanks in advance and keep it up
ОтветитьI would use a black polish on any dark car.
Ответить#6 keep 14-15 pounds of pressure
ОтветитьChris fix, Darren from auto fetish, and esoteric are the go to guys for car detailing. Chris is an amazing guy with great tips for diy detailers. Darren is professional all about cutting through the nonsense in a verbally thorough way, and this is the best channel that is all about the details.
ОтветитьNew to the detailing world but found a peacefulness to this passion. Glad to have found this channel to learn things the correct way and minimizing bad habits right out of the gate
ОтветитьThat red C5 Corvette Convertible in the background looks like mine with the exception those taillights have been changed out. I love my Vette... it's peaceful and exciting at the same time. Plus, it's therapeutic considering what happened with me during my deployment last year. 👍🏻🦅
ОтветитьI have been dreaming of my own business of polishing and cleaning and i can't get any info anywhere. Thanks for taking your time to show us ! Any tips on how to get started? Might be a hard one , but yeah.. :-) Thanks again !
ОтветитьHi i want to hand polish my car with sonax sponge application and sonax perfect finish! What will be the results, i want to vanish spiders and to be glosy
Its vw golf 2009
Or after that it will have haze ?
This is quite different from the rupes guys, who prime pads, run the machine stationary for 30 seconds at speed 3, and only do one pass each direction.
ОтветитьI just watched your video about busting the myth of priming the pad; great video! I followed this recommended video from that. Great channel!
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьAwesome vid Todd..
Quick question: I think I heard yvan say not to spray panel wipe or "alcohol " mix after a heavy polish because it distorts the clear while it's still warm..
Can you clarify on this matter.
Please and thank you.
What a discussion about priming. Even the Rupes channel talks about initial priming of a pad.. Guess it can’t hurt unless you over saturate the pad ?
ОтветитьWhy is it dusting everywhere on a one step with the yellow pad and perfect finish how can I reduce this ? Also why is there still swirl marks after yellow of and perfect finish, does this mean the white pad is needed ?
ОтветитьThanks Master
ОтветитьDo you have a marine kit? Gel coat
ОтветитьQuestion? At what point should I be scraping or changing my pad after hit X number of panels? So I do a panel, do I clean/blow the pad and re-apply, or just re-apply and move on?
ОтветитьThe first thing I noticed was the polisher on the hood then the message popped up😂
ОтветитьThis dual action will never correct paint faster than a rotary. Not in anyone's lifetime.
ОтветитьGreat teaching video. I plan on watching all your videos. I’m so new I’m looking to buy my first polisher so I can go to work on my truck. If you could buy just one RUPES, which one would you suggest?
ОтветитьWhen we are doing a finishing polish on a paint ( a black magic for me ) do we have to decrease the speed and increase our arms movments and put less pressure on our machine or do we have to do as you said like speed 4.5 etc...? I'm asking because when i'm doing with a high speed ( 4 or 5 ) i have some kind of holograms or like some oil , grease that don't want to get over even with washing, IPA etc..
When i'm doing with a lower speed lower pressure and higher movments, this kind of holograms arn't as visible as before with high speed etc, but they still a little bit here when the sun is shining on my car with a certain angles i can see those kind of trace..
Thanks you for your answer!
Thank you. and you say single stage makes no deference?
ОтветитьWhy the kit is $500 up?
ОтветитьGood video but could have done better video angles
ОтветитьCould I use the Polish you use here before I apply ceramic coating on my new car. Just picked it up.
ОтветитьI learned some very nice info. And you helped me get off of the fence with Sonax Perfect Finish. I believe this material will suit my upcoming enhancement. I have a question, if I may ask. With this polish/pad combo, should I back off on the force against the panel on the last pass to help refine the surface should I try to maintain the 15lbs of downward force? Thank you for the great video!
ОтветитьOne thing I’ve learned from watching all the different videos about detailing is that there isn’t one and only one way to do things — including buffing and polishing. So, with what he was saying I don’t think is very professional. His way to buff and polish isn’t the only way there is and it wasn’t cool to hear him say other’s way of doing things is wrong and don’t follow them. Lastly, if he was a professional detailer then he would know not to put the polisher on the surface he did; any coincidence that the area he polished is the same area the machine was on?
ОтветитьWhat panel wipe liquid can I use?.
Can you recommend a light that won't break the bank?
Got some scratches but not into color, but with blue pad and blue compound and even meguiars ultra cut I can't get them out ??
Thank you
Why is priming no longer needed? It will vary depending on the product you use right?
