GARRRBAGE DAY!
ОтветитьI'd add "Chopping Mall" and "Night of the Comet" to this list. Both star the younger actress from "Night of the Comet".
ОтветитьI am trying to find the title of a horror movie that I saw a long time ago. It may have been from the 70's or 80's. The main character was Deaf/Hearing Impaired and looked kinda like Herman Andrew Stevens from the Fury, but not sure. He gets an operation to help his hearing and as a result unlocks supernatural abilities. The movie may even have Burgess Meredith in it. Any ideas?
ОтветитьI don't feel like people mention that "Pieces" has a completely random scene involving a character's "kung fu professor" showing up while the whodunit is going on.
ОтветитьSleepway camp
ОтветитьCheerleader camp 😍
ОтветитьI freaking loves Pieces!! I'm glad it got some recognition on this list
ОтветитьDon't know if it qualifies as a hidden gem slasher, but one of my favorites of the 80's is Sleepaway Camp. That ending reveal made me jump. The other (unsure if it was ever in theatres) is the scarecrow. Watched it on a Friday night, had nightmares for a week and the preceeded to watch it again the next Friday. Great movie
ОтветитьIT'S NOT CRANBERRY SAUCE!!! Funny line.
ОтветитьThe Undertaker WWE fakeout was very well executed haha
ОтветитьHow could you not mention that The Mutilator has easily one of the most BRUTAL and SHOCKINGLY messed up kills in all of the slasher subgenre???!!!
ОтветитьPieces: Lynda Day George, show them how it's done.
ОтветитьI was hoping for some really obscure stuff. I own all of these lol
ОтветитьAm I the only one who became a child when they briefly joked about Taker lol..just me....oh okay
ОтветитьSomehow, I just knew when you mentioned "The Undertaker" that there would be a reference to WWE Icon, The Undertaker.
ОтветитьI have to ask. . .Are you a WWE fan?
ОтветитьTerror Train was a nice surprise. The movie was entertaining and had a couple of good jump scares.
ОтветитьPsycho 2 was the very first ever horror movie I experienced at 6 years old 😂 in the room when my parents watched it under the pretence of being asleep (yeah right 😂). Love it even more watching it nowadays
ОтветитьRush Week, Cheerleader Camp, To All A Goodnight, Sweet Sixteen, Fatal Games, Killer Workout 😂
ОтветитьThese are not “Hidden Gems” Arrow and 88films have released the vast majority of them if not all. Perhaps a better title for the film would be 10 great lesser known slashers
ОтветитьIt is impossible to properly clean a gun while it was loaded, so either the kid did a terrible job on the birthday present or the kill was intentional.
ОтветитьThese were great films to go to on a Friday night with friends to the drive in.
ОтветитьI was 18 in 1980 and these were the films we went to see.
ОтветитьJust my opinion 10 -2 great 👍. No.1 meh
ОтветитьSlumber Party Massacre.
COURTNEY FOR THE WIN!!!!!!! She’s one of the most ENJOYABLE horror characters I’ve ever seen!
And John Saxon!
ОтветитьThank you for this list. People are often found in the comments of your videos complaining that you run through the same common list of movies, or that you only do recent movies...this list combats both of those complaints & does so in spades, producing a nice list of gems.
ОтветитьSlaughter High has to be one of the most underrated slashers out there. The Beer can chug scene alone is worth watching and could serve as a messed up but funny anti drinking psa.
ОтветитьPsycho 2 had the best tag line. Shower your love on Norman when he returns.
ОтветитьTerror Train > Halloween all of the characters are way more memorable and multidimensional. The kills have a great tense pace and more of a payoff. Lastly, Terror Train has Copperfield AND Vanity. Nuff said
ОтветитьYou forgot Student Bodies, it's a comedy/ horror movie
ОтветитьI actually own slauhghter high it was a good movie with great kills but the final girl chase was a bit drawn out but otherwise great
ОтветитьI didn't think I would like Psyco 2 because I was such a big fan of the way Hitchcock left his stories ends to your imagination, but I really did enjoy it.
ОтветитьWhat about Bad Dreams? I know it’s an 80’s flick because it came out in ‘88 ( saw it at the theater and loved it)
I’m sure it’s a slasher.
the fact that Madman is not on this list makes you all assholes
ОтветитьEdge of the Ax was on Shudder.
ОтветитьPieces has of course one of the best bits of worst acting by Lynda Day George. I crack up every time she screams “BASTARD! …..BAAAAASTARD!”
ОтветитьI’m glad someone acknowledged Black Christmas was the OG slasher film. While Psycho, Peeping Tom, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which came out the same year), and various Giallos had elements in common, Black Christmas was the first movie that truly and unambiguously has enough elements to truly qualify. It may not fully show the killer at any point, which is unusual in the genre, but it was the first movie to distill the essential elements of the genre like killer POV shots, body count, young people drinking and being irresponsible, and bonus points for a holiday setting, which is pretty ubiquitous, although not mandatory, in the genre. The fact that you only ever see the killer’s eye and shadowed form is a bit more Giallo, but Halloween essentially introduced that last element, which it had in common with Texas Chainsaw Massacre and some Giallos. Point being, I’m glad the film that really started the genre is getting credit here, because it is excellent.
ОтветитьIt's a shame that Curtains didn't make the list. I had no idea there were so many good 80s slasher movies. Will have to check some of these out.
ОтветитьIve been looking for Nightmare Beach for a while, but forgot the name. Thank you
Ответитьnice of you to show the ending of pycho 2 here. lol
ОтветитьSlaughter High is excellent.😀👍
ОтветитьA list of the movies would be nice, Just Saying
ОтветитьHas anyone seen ‘Massacre at Central High’ I think it should have been on the list.
ОтветитьI really dig most of these movies, awesome list
ОтветитьI'm so glad your channel exists. There are SO MANY decent horror movies I wouldn't have known about until this came along.
ОтветитьLove me some 80s slashers!!! They're my favorite!!
Ответить“Pandemonium”!!!! It’s The Naked Gun meets every horror trope of the 70s and 80s!!! Hilarious with a STELLAR cast!!!
ОтветитьIntruder is super underrated
