But regulators will never allow this.

A Norwgian comedy show back in the day made fun of this, where the first class was splendor, and each segment get more and more poor, and they had to low altitude jump out of the plane. Because the location had no airfield.

What’s hilarious is that they could ALSO cram more people in if they have horizontal beds instead of seats….but that would INCREASE comfort and they can’t have that….

Millions of plebs want to fly, with millions more wanting to. Unable to expand airports which are at capacity due to location, environmental factors and NIMBY's. Building new airports is expensive and requires new infrastructure which again brings in environmental issues and NIMBY's. How do they fly the millions of extra plebs that want to fly..?

I used to work on avionics in San Antonio TX and they would hire so many immigrant workers over the veterans from the military because they'll take a lower pay. Its killing avionics the way they've been cutting corners for decades. Max profit for least investment.

The "why" did Ryanair comment is surely quite simple. The image used their seat colour scheme and people jumped to the assumption it was about Ryanair. They are a truly abominable company though!

Nobody's going to buy it. First class buys their tickets because they have to, coach buys their tickets because they want to. In short, nobody's going to stand for it.

Maybe they could make the seats even more cost-effective by harvesting your blood during the flight. Why not offer stackable sleeping pods at this rate?

Of course, once the standing saddle ticket becomes the norm, they will go to phase 2. Pedals will be installed under each seat, and passengers will be able to work for a minor discount on their ticket cost by helping to power the plane.

"Standing only" really, is only a good idea for Spacecraft. In 0G they are effectively beds. on even a 1 hour flight, train or bus ride where you have gravity, you will need to sit down properly.
Regulators need to come in and sort this

Capitalists don't care if they kill you, so long as it's more profitable...

As a pilot, I can tell you this is insane.
People will die from this, guaranteed.
Of course, they will probably tell you that AI is going to fly the plane so it's going to be 100% safe.

Wake up people!
The problem is the system built around profit

I flew Spirit once and that was enough, I quit flying Frontier because they are trash too. I would be ok if flying was expensive again. $600-700 a flight to keep the trash off the plane. I did fly on JSX which is a 30 seat semi private jet service here out west, well worth the cost and use them if they fly where I'm going. All first class seats, only 30 people, totally different experience. Cost $575 for round trip from Phoenix to Denver. Well worth it to stay away from the trash. I use Delta normally and pay for comfort plus.

I will fly myself LONG before I will ever be on one of these death machines. I am working on my wings right now, and there is no way this will be safe. This sounds like the old urban legend that it was easier to pay out death settlements over recalls. This would be the same that how much they save and the more tickets that are sold will out weigh the cost of payouts for deaths and injury. That or just tie you up in court for YEARS over paying.

This is a very poorly researched video. Firstly the reason Ryanair denied it is because they were asked outright, if you live in the UK or Europe you know Ryanair are the number one airline for disgusting behaviour so if anyone was going to try this it would be them, that's why they were asked I presume. Secondly if this was happening anytime soon we would know, at the very best planes would have to be completely changed, you don't just take seats out and put standing ones in, there is balancing issues, weight issues and a whole whole lot more. If that's not possible new planes would have to be made, on top of that the amount of safety certification needed would be insane and if any of that was going on something would have gotten out by now. Then you have to look at each governing body that regulates the air industry in their respective countries, they would all have to agree to this. It does not matter if one thinks its OK, if the another does not then that airline cannot go near that country and these budget carries fly all over the place. I know these companies would do it tomorrow if they could, however the fact is this stuff has been developed and talked about for decades and has yet to happen, this is proof at the very least its not coming anytime soon if ever. One thing I will say if it does happen years down the line I will not be getting on any plane that has standing, I don't want some dude being tossed around in the cabin like a rag doll in an emergency and killing me or my wife and I honestly think many would feel the same, enough to put airlines off.

I never hated air travel. Actually I found it cheap and convenient. And I usually have a good experience. Which means no smelly or overweight people next to me. The people flying are respectful too. And usually the flight attendants are very professional too.
