@barlowsrock Why isnt the love of his children enough for him, then?! He has like 8 by each woman from their race from his attention. They're supposed to be content with changing diapers and having a fraction of a partner but he has 3 partners competing for his attention every day. Its not a "some people" thing if they're only men. You're saying that a man is capable of "fully" loving more than one person, but women are not. Why cant they add another husband?

I doubt anyone thought that all polyg. women are shackled up in 17th century smocks with a 2nd grade education. They dont have to be physically oppressed because their minds are already so bent. He doesnt need shackles because they're already conditioned to serve him and be second to him think its OK. I'm going to read their book and I hope that some (or ANY!) of my questions can be answered.

The fact that one out of seven people are starving has nothing to do with families like this over populating...people are starving and impoverished because there are too many other people in the world that have way more than they truly need and to selfish and greedy to share with those who are less fortunate.

@UrSooperJealous I agree. The only difference between these people (and the Sister Wives "Brown" Family) is they don't go for underage girls. Otherwise, they are just as perverted as Warren Jeffs.

From experience, I 100% agree that a loving relationship with multiple partners does not divide the love but multiplies it. Romantic relationships are the one relationship we are told we only have the capacity to love one person and I whole heartedly disagree. You do not love your child less when your 2nd is born. I don't feel this is any different with partners. This lifestyle is not for everyone but i believe there are many positive aspects for those who choose this as their way of life!

@checkingcomputer I think you meant "kudos" And yes, there is nothing wrong with it so long as all of them are treated fairly. Obviously its not for everyone. I for one could never do it.

@clubindiana4 That's because living with multiple wives.in the same house, violates a law based on religion not the constitution, called bigamy. and it's those laws based on religion, will eventually found unconstitutional.

@johnnomads- where exactly in this vauge "law of religion" does it say plural marriages are illegal? The bible at least has tons of exmples of plural marriages, does not condem it to the best of my knowledge...

What an insightful statistic, but who is to determine that polygamist children have less of right than the starving and impoverished to life and prosperity. Equal opportunity, and free will. The only difference between the starving and impoverished, the well fed and wealthy are the choices made to either remain in poverty or to rise above it. I recommend you read "Think and Grown rich". I was not born rich, but that does not mean I cannot become wealthy.

Normally I see myself as an open person, but this is just too weird.. I guess it's okay if they are happy with their situation... But seriously I would never be able to do something like this.. I wouldn't wanna share my husband with anyone other than my children.. Like this man can love all three of them equally - as if! And another thing: I wouldn't feel very special if I had to share my father with 22 brothers and sister AND three women - nobody has the time for that...

The children will grow up to be lovely people. They're so beautiful. I don't believe the world should nose in their business even if the marriage does seem to have more than just a bride and a groom--but as long as they love each other, they're happy, and they raise their children to be just as open minded and educate the world about love and compassion; how to open their minds more... let them smile! They're not doing anything inhumane. Congratulations.

And I agree with you on that point Katherine...people should depend on their own hard work to pull themselves up, however, I do have a problem with people (and let me state first that this DOES NOT include this family, because they seem to be doing fine supporting their children) that have children that they already can't afford to support and practice no type of family planning and continue to have child after child at the expense of the tax payers by way of welfare and other government aid.

The Bible does not condemn plural marriage. It is most prevalent in the Old Testament, especially in the Books of Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Kings and Samuel. Examples are Abraham, Jacob, Moses, King David and Solomon.

What happened with Mormonism is that the Church's first prophet, Joseph Smith, received a revelation (Which is recorded as the Doctrine and Covenants 132) that stated God had re-given the right of plural marriage to his people. The early Mormons then began to practice polygamy and were quickly prosecuted for their beliefs. They moved from upstate NY to Illinois where Smith was shot and killed and the rest of the "pioneers" as they refer to them made their way to Salt Lake, where they stayed.

At the time, Utah was not under the jurisdiction of the US however it provided the safest route for people into CA which was important as it was simultaneous timing with the gold rush. The US govt then told the Mormons that they were taking the land as it belonged to the country and that they would have to abide by the laws of the land, which was anti polygamy& pro-monoagy. The Church leader then had a new revelation which recanted its stance on polygamy &therefore that is why it is now illegal

The bible is NOTHING but a book of fairy tails. There is nothing, and I do mean nothing that supports the existence of a God. Additionally the bible is filled with many, many contradictions. People would be better served reading a simple book such as Words of Wisdom or a book of quotes for a baseline for how to live. --without the guilt of a bible or any religion. Its a shame that religion has hijacked morality.

Dear lady.... sorry but i have to contradict you.... Yes, the Bible speaks about so many examples of plural marriages, but just to show us how sinful, unhappy and miserable life can that be... Did you read Sara"s story, how many problemes she had with hes servants? Did you read what Solomon sad after he tryed to this life with no less than 1000 wifes?

No, Utah was not a State, and therefore not under US Constitutional protections. BUT, Utah Territory WAS OWNED by the United States and COULD exercise soverign rule over ALL it's owned territories. For this reason the practise of performing "Plural Marriages" was moved to Arizona, New Mexico--finally to Mexico (totally outside USA jurisdiction). EVEN THEN PM (polygamy) continued covertly for another 20 years AFTER LDS Inc. pubicly rejected the practise (1890--a LIE told to keep US at bay).

The LDS were not "prosecuted for their "beliefs". The WERE prosecuted (hounded) for their PRACTICES, specifically polygamy. A state law was passed and implemented in Illinois in 1837--some 2 to 3 years BEFORE Mormons settled there en mass. So LDS polygamists were absolutely in violation of State Law from the time they arrived til they left for Utah Territory.

Correct. The Bible does not condemn plural marriage--but neither does it okay it. I can find nowhere in the Bible where polygamy can be said to have been authorized by God--in the same way D&C 132 authorized it. Some Mormons seem to think that because God didn't specifically speak against PM, His silence was the authorization. Think about it. God didn't speak against Lot' incest with his 2 daughters either. Are we to infer, by God's silence on that action, that incest is also authorized?

While the Bible does not specifically condemn polygamy the Book of Mormon absolutely D O E S !! Please reference, in the Book of Mormon, @ about page 108-110 @ Jacob 1:15 and Jacob 2:24. I'm sure these BoM passages stunn most Mormons--forcing them to come up with some really absured excuses...
