Speaking as a German, this might be my favourite boss of the entire game (Chef Saltbaker, Moonshine Mob, Mortimer Freeze, Phantom Express and Carla Maria come close). I just love that "Charge forward" attack of Werner in this first phase, always cracks me up! And it somehow always seems to be implemented in American's DNA to make fun of Germans 😂 Also, definitely my favourite track in the base game!

I didn't get the joke with this boss's name until I watched the Cuphead Show. "Werman" when pronounced with a German accent is "Verman"...or "vermin".

Werner is probably really old, if you look at werners initials it says WW the 1 and without the “the” it means WW1, it can also stand for world war 1 so…

The "Cat" stage reminds me an awful lot of Cheshire Cat boss from Batman & Robin on SEGA Genesis / Megadrive.

Why does it look like he’s doing the h1lter position when charging?

Every notice that the Spread Shot is the best weapon for this fight. I like to think that is a World War One reference to the fact Duetschland gehasst trench shotguns.

I like the backstories SonicDestoyer and the guy who made one for Root Pack made, so:
Werner Werman is not your usual mouse. Werner liked chillin at the house of a cat. He was constantly bullied by the black feline saying he looked like a squirrel. He got tired of it and went to the devil. He asked him if he could kill the cat, but he instead offered a better deal. He said that he could controll the cat at his will, but at the cost of his literal soul. He accepted any way to get rid of the cat. However he missed the purrs and wanted to ask the devil to break the pact, only to realize it was too late for him.

This is and always will be my favorite boss fight. I’m 18 years old and Tom and Jerry is still my favorite cartoon. In fact, it’s the only cartoon I’ve ever watched. I’m not a cartoon person.

Oh and one complaint. In the Cuphead TV show this guy is tiny. I know hes a rat and all, but still wish they stuck to his original size in the game
