The body language detail is great here; the smugglers with their arms crossed, clearly in a very defensive position despite trying to portray toughness, while Lalo has his arms by his side, very confident and not considering them a threat at all. They are faking confidence while he is actually confident.

Lalo is a mixed bag of psychotic and sensible. He's not a good man. He'll kill anyone who gets between him and what he wants, innocent or not. He has his own sort of code and you can more or less tell if you're in his danger zone, but he's still a cold blooded killer. At the same time, he seems to harbor genuine respect for working class people. Struggling people. He'll kill them if he feels he needs to. But he won't step on them or punish them just for being poor.

Why are all of Lalo's murders off screen?

He is the lovable evil guy. They keep making these great supporting characters that are more interesting than the main ones. Now they got to do another show. 😭

They only had to be fair and give his money back. Lalo isn't a good person, but he is fair. The Salamancas are cruel, but at the very least they look after their own.

One interesting point - in Hector room in Casa Tranquilla there is pic of young Hector sitting with young twins and 10 years old boy. First, I thought it was Tuco, but now I think it might be Lalo. There us some special connection between Lalo and Hector, while Tuco is considered a bad seed.

I love how Lalo lets everyone go, but the twins shot up a whole truck.

It was highly likely the smugglers would have just set fire to that hay cart and left with the money.

I love how this shows Hector is actually really smart and strategical. Even though we mostly see him as a dumb ruthless brute, he was smart enough to build the Salamanca’s cartel and this is a little glimpse at that prowess. He knew Lalo’s plan wasn’t enough because Don Eladio would never side with them even if they got their revenge without proof. Lalo is already very strategic but Hector was able to correct his plan immediately after hearing it once, and Lalo knows Hector is wise and has a point so he respects his input and reframes his plan.

Lalo was my favorite of the Salamanca's by far!! He was more Noble, Honourable, and had more humanity in him than his relatives! Plus he's not just a brute, but also Intelligent, Diplomatic, Ruthless, and Strategic in one!

Love the difference in style between Lalo and the Cousins. The cousins killed all potential witnesses, whereas Lalo takes the risk so he doesn’t kill people whom it would give him 0 pleasure to kill.

Able to get the draw on the smugglers but loses when he already has the draw on Gus... shameful.

People over use the word sociopath/psychopath far too frivolously in regards to Lalo.
All I see here is a decent dude who his so loyal to his family that he will stop at NOTHING to ensure their growth and happiness. Family is everything. Imagine having this dude as a dad or a brother. Whatever you need to live, he’s got you

Lalo killed these two for no reason, the same like he killed that guy in tourist office. kind of stupid...here is Mexico so maybe no a big deal but in US he almost get life sentence.

I don’t think Lalo is a total psychopath /sociopath. He actually enjoys human beings. It’s just his loyalty to his family compels him to do whatever it takes to protect their interests , at all costs. He despises rudeness , he’s very polite and he is conscious of social norms. But he is committed to the family he’s born in. He’s no different than a wolf in his wolf pack or a Lion in hjs pride.

Lalo opens the door after the shootout the same way Todd opened the hatch in front of Lydia, and the same way Mike opened the back door of the distribution truck.
