In this video I say that Murkoff were EXPOSED in 1938, for selling gas to the Germans to use in World War 1. As in, they weren’t exposed until years later. Thanks for your time. What I got from this is that outlast has pretty terrible lore. It’s convoluted but not in an interesting way. I don’t care about the Pauls 😂, but I will say that Mr. Gluskin was an amazing sequence and a character and the best thing that outlast ever did if they could just focus on more horror sequences with Interesting characters, that would be great. Right now Outlast lore is a bunch of shitty creepy pastas placed back to back to make a linear sequence of events but I wouldn’t call it a good story

My fave “twist” of any series is that the journalist and the whistleblower are in the building at the same time. Million dollar Hollywood films can’t connect their first part to their sequel/prequel that seamlessly.

Game developers who make unique games like this are one of a kind.

Simon Peacock’s character is one big question mark. Despite taking whole Outlast lore into account, he seems not only uncanny and bizarre, but unfitting in the whole plot.
How did he become a walking pile of maggots ? Ofcourse it has something to do with Murkoff but how did he transform/mutate into the monster? What was the process?

I can only hope that whatever happened to Peacock would be at least partially described in the upcoming Outlast game.

Never understood how Murkoff know about Miles and Waylon, if all the drives were 100% wiped then camera footage wouldn't be available and it's not as if they were known really, both nobodies, and it seems the Paul's visiting Mount Massive was a next day type of deal so how would they know??

As someone who knows nothing about Outlast, the story of Outlast 1 makes a lot of sense to me, and I see why it’s enjoyable, but Outlast 2… If it was how you described it, I have so many questions about story direction and the story itself, but it’s been two years, so I guess this won’t ever get seen. Would be cool if it was though

What the heck man. I really thought the Outlast 2 story was much more involved. I thought the whole thing was a hallucination and a way for Blake to cope with his guilt. It almost seems too simple. I really wanted there to be more behind the Jessica story. Cause what the heck, I thought she hung herself? That was made up, too?
I guess the story that was in my head was something I liked more than what I actually got.

I remember getting to the end of the first Outlast, dying to the Murkoff guards and saying to my friends: "Gosh, this game ending is so bad. So what, we just die?". Little did I know, I was an idiot who just went through the game without knowing/reading the lore and had no idea how good of an ending it was. Seriously, what an incredible video which explains the lore so beautifully. Also, a reminder that I should take more time to experience and read through the lore of these horror games.

I love that it's not just some silly jumpscare game. The characters and plot are thought out. Like boundaries are pushed but executed well. The Eddie Gluskin addition just added so many layers of fear.

Just so yk if the gas was sold to the germans in 1938–that would be just before WW2 and would also imply connections to the Holocaust. WWI ended in 1914, so you’re starting the video off w a 💩 impression.

It’s funny that outlast is still one of the best horror games years later. Not a lot of horror games I’d call bangers. This is one I would. Love the multiplayer game as well now. Great twist on my favorite horror game
