So would you say that most of the piano house tracks of the early 90s like Sunshine - Unit 2, Gypsy woman - Crystal Waters, Love Me the Right Way - Rapination & Kym Mazelle , would all fall under Classic House? Or do people consider that it's own sub genre? I'm just curious because that's my favorite type of house.

get your facts straight tropical house is of Jamaican origins and also some of those music that guy mention has a Jamaican dubstep origin.

As a massive fan of progressive house I must say there Isn't really any connection between progressive house and house, while house is focused on the groove progressive house is more similar to trance in the way that tracks almost act like full blown movies in their construction.

Electro house only really started in the 2000s with Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat and later Justice - Waters Of Nazareth.

None of the tracks listed for prog were prog though? Prog is as prog rock is, low key, down tempo. Not loud and melodic.

Thank you so much for this video! These sub-genres can be so confusing and intimidating for someone who is maybe a more casual fan who enjoys other genres of music. Speaking of other musical styles, there is a house music sound that incorporates lots of instruments, featuring the saxophone in particular that I would love to find more of. In my limited experience, the top three producers making this music are: Klingande, Goldfish and Bakermat. I have heard them described as tropical house, and maybe a few of their tracks could solidly be considered tropical house playlists none of them have the same deep instrumental focus - with hot sax solos and a driving beat as those three artists do. Any suggestions on what genre to call Klingande, Bakermat and Goldfish?

I just discovered house music. Always been more of a fan of heavy rock and metal. It's absolutely the same vibe, but a different font.

Thanks for this video! Very informative, but didn't help my search for how to label my own music. People always ask me what kind of music I put out and I tell them Electronic Rock. I write music, that is played with some loops/ samples, but I write lyrics, melodies, and not every song is at the tempos listed or with the kick on 1, 2, 3, and 4. I also don't feel Synth-Pop best describes me. Perhaps I am Progressive House Pop! Dunno, but If anyone here wants to check me out on Streaming services I have three songs out now with 2 more in December which will throw a wrench in it again. I'd love to know how others would classify me. I go by It Kidz.
