the idea is good if thats your thing, but the gaps shouldnt be wider than a bb.
ОтветитьIt can prevent dental or face scarring. It's flexible but won't stop a bb's. It can also shatter on impact. Go with it and see what happens. Baccalava helps prevent scarring of face. Full face better. Lol
ОтветитьDEUS VULT)))
ОтветитьChecks date to see if it's april 1st again
ОтветитьMake it smaller and print it in PA11 on a HP.
ОтветитьI can't see it... Have you tried shooting at it over the foam head? I'm guessing it will contract, yes, but just after hitting your mouth...
Anyhow, you can allways can creater your own plastic chainmail as they did for the LoTR, and maybe it will work better =)
cool idea but the hole in the goggles isn't the best idea, all it takes is the perfect shot an either a bb or piece of bb goes threw the hole...
ОтветитьMaking chain mail is actually fun, you can make smaller loops than those it's just a bit harder with the same gauge wire. I'd do that and with thinner wire and close the size of the holes, you might be on to something, if nothing else, good for a wasteland outfit!
ОтветитьI’m really excited to see the future of this idea grow 👍🏼
ОтветитьRestarting the holy wars
ОтветитьInnovating the Airsoft world, keep it up! Sell it!
ОтветитьI got a small piece of rectangle mesh to cover my teeth and a breathable half balaclava works for me super low profile I run google and a fast helmet as week
ОтветитьHey, I had an idea obout it a few months ago, what i thought was taking 2 balaclavas, and put between them the mesh.
ОтветитьCan someone tell where to get the steel insert for a balaclava?
ОтветитьThe bbs will just go straight through?
ОтветитьWith my luck the bb will go right trough one of those tiny holes :D, no but really good vid, its nice to see airrsofters bringing up new ideas
ОтветитьI've been playing for a few years and have tried many of the common face masks, they are all rather mediocre ways of protecting your teeth.
I prefer shooting glasses rated for .223 ricochets and a custom gum guard made by my dentist, no fogging and no compromises in comfort.
Better than nothing, but i do think the links are too big. Maybe do a shooting test and see how the foam face holds up?
As for looks maybe some camo netting in front of it? I was also thinking maybe a thicker wire running the outside links so it holds shape better and doesnt flop around when you run, but the inner links would still flex when you go for a cheek weld.
the worst face protection never see
ОтветитьMain concern would be rattling and/or having it get stuck in some stocks that have cheek risers - if the rings are large enough. Something small that covers just the mouth and can be worn under a balaclava so the impact can be dissipated on a larger area is all you need to cover your teeth.
ОтветитьWhat about your facial hair? Does it snag on your beard or mustache?
ОтветитьThe only other place I would look for chain link material is the culinary industry, I know they have smock, bib setups to protect against cuts....and the suits they use while diving to protect against shark bites.....both are probably going to be way more $$$ than you want to spend.
ОтветитьI think a finer mesh and maybe being able to stitch it to a balaclava so it’s one unit would be better, and would stop it the chain mail from flopping around.
ОтветитьI wonder if the rings are small enough to stop bb's
ОтветитьJust attach one of those viking beards on the chain mail for an operator beard look
Ответитьi just use 2 mouth guards one for top row of teeth one for bottom row sure it hurts getting hit in the nose or lips but its apart of the game
ОтветитьYou can make this with smaller rings in about 2-3 hours. Use a European 4:1 pattern and you should be good. also, instead of cutting pre-made, two pairs of pliers and bent the rings open.
ОтветитьThis looks like something that will work. I’d love to see more on this, and I’d love to try it out
ОтветитьI used to make chain mail. You can order cut links in many sizes. To get a tighter weave with links you do a 6 in 1 pattern instead of 4 in 1. Also aluminum links are WAY lighter and just as good for this purpose. Smaller links in a 4 in 1 pattern would work but also are a lot harder to do but it is not like you are making a whole suit by hand. Also take a look at WW1 Tank Operator masks for some inspiration.
ОтветитьJust go to eBay search bar and type: "Chainmail Sheet" and you'll find more than enough of what you're looking for, including the different sized chainmail rings. Hope this helps.
Ответитьif we can't lean on the sights then it must be raised. You can get a high rail.
ОтветитьAnd if a bb shatters it?
Ответитьi currently run homemade maille as my head protection and mouth guard. used a similar pattern to yours. currently trying to make Japanese 6 in 1 which is lighter, easier to mould to your face and protects a bit better.
ОтветитьI carry a lower mesh on a large S clip attached to my gun belt. That way I can snipe without the mesh, and clear rooms with it. But I might have to look into this.
ОтветитьHey I was thinking of using a file to cut a groove into my lower goggles, and glue it in, and I was wondering if you could recommend a good type of durable semi flexible glue, I was thinking maybe shoe glue
Ответитьwhatabout Kevlar ?
ОтветитьGreat idea ( but I am biased since I am a Viking ) just need to use a tighter chain mail with a smaller links version, but this would definitely work, and just wear a balaclava underneath.
ОтветитьScott Steiner says that’s a bad idea....
ОтветитьYou want some shark mail or butchers mail. Would work pretty good for this.
ОтветитьHave you invented anything better?
What do you currently run?
I liked the video!
Back in WW1 tankers would wear chainmail masks to protect their faces from shrapnel
ОтветитьBruh, you’re the Andy Warhol in airsoft community.
Ответитьits just not practical
ОтветитьHello I know this is a bit late but I recently ordered some handmade chainmail from E,tsy. It’s made by a guy called Igor who runs a shop called wildewalder. He’s in the Isle of Man but I’m pretty sure he ships world wide. He also does everything completely custom. I ordered a 15x15cm piece with 5.6 mm rings which is perfect for airsoft masks. But you could even order 4mm rings since he makes them himself. If you want like a custom bit of chainmail for a pretty good price then he is your guy.
ОтветитьI know this is 3 years ago but cast iron scouring pads are fine chain mail sheets
