Is the NEW 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL a better SUV than a Toyota RAV4?

Definitely not 33 highway, I get 45 typically and if I really try I get 50

Wow! I may be late in looking for a newer model Tucson, but this review has helped me know that I will not buy a 2022! I am now searching for, at least, the 2023 SEL. I had a 2013 and loved driving it. But, if I am moving up...I want comfort!

One thing they forgot is the usual overhead sunglass compartment.

I've always wondered why people complain about hard plastic components on dashboards in areas that you don't touch for extended periods of time or sleep on what is the actual benefit of having soft touch interior components on the dashboard or the door to the glove box not knocking the vehicle overall just looking at some videos today since my wife is decided she wants to pick one of these up tonight SEL with the convenience package found one that had a gray leather interior every other one we saw this week have black cloth

I like a cloth interior! I live in a hot part of California and am moving to Florida in six months. I don't like "leatherette" (non-breathing vinyl in other words) that doesn't breathe. Sticky back is not fun - been there, done that. Oh, and they have changed the design for 2023 - no strange geometric shapes.

I got this one a few days ago and love it! It drives beautifully light and with power. I had the 21 Tucson and there are quite some differences in driving quality and the number of safety features. The sound is also much better and there is enough space to be comfortable, even in the back.

$28,000 is a joke cause you will never find one at that price! Lowest price I found was $35,000. At least he pointed out a lot of low points

The analog tach/speedo on the SEL looks much better in real life than in video. I thought it looked ugly at first too until I saw it in real life. I now prefer the analog gauges over LCD. The LCD tach/speedo on the Limited trim looks like a bare bolted-on smartphone afterthought without the typical shade/hood over the instruments, me no like. The black-on-white speedo on the LCD is ugly as hell, I prefer white-on-black or lightblue-on-black.

Tried to buy the Limited trim and they would not budge on the monthly payment so I grudgingly test drove the Sel. I actually loved it until I looked up and no panoramic sun roof. Maybe not meant to have one. 😞

I hate the interior front... there's no storage. I have the SEL Prem w/ wireless charger and there's no storage in this car. No sunglass holder either. Major dings for me.

I picked up my 2022 Hyunday Tucson SEL AWD yesterday. It has 23 miles on it. This is an amazing, high tech, solidly built vehicle. That I got 2.24% financing for 60 months was even better. I suppose credit score of 882 helped!!!

Just a heads up. 2022 Tucson has a growing # of vehicle with problems with engine control system causing the suv to trigger check engine light, slow to throttle or just stall. It used to take several weeks for technicians to figure out and fix but now will take your car several days or a week parked in the dealership service department.

My dad just bought one of these and I drove us all on a long road trip with it. Excellent vehicle, loved the lane keep assist, the cruise control that automatically slows down if a vehicle is in front and the side collision detection. The awd is great too in Minnesota snow! I'd highly recommend this to anyone. These new Hyundais are not what they used to be. I bought his old car, his 2016 sonata and I love that too. Go Hyundai! Great vehicles for the price.

I purchased my 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL AWD last night. So far sooo good! 💙🚙

I like fabric think after years look good yet. We are in 70's interior nicer then demonstrated.

We have one dark gray, beautiful, we enjoy it, myself I make up reason to drive it, drive system awesome, winter storm snow no problem, 1 car I like after selling. 2010 Toyota Siennena, miss the van.

Joe this looks like the SE? But if not then the SEL Premium brings a whole new package which is very similar to the limited trim.

You know what took me a while to realize Joe?......THAT NOT ONLY ARE THERE TRIM LEVELS BUT EVEN DUE TO PACKAGES THE SAME TRIM COULD LOOK DIFFERENT!!!! GEEESSHHHH! How much more can they confuse us! You have to literally watch Raiti's Rides before you buy any vehicle just to get exactly what you want or you find out prefer! Thanks, for your work!

Does anyone know why this two-tone interior is not available for build on Hyundai's website? The seats are also different. And yes, I have checked all trim levels.

Ugly car

I just got this car a couple of weeks ago. Love it my first SUV, had 2012 Lexus ES350 and thought I would have a hard time with the adjustment but I had no problem. Going from 6 cylinder to 4, don’t really notice a big difference.
