We Were Wrong - Ryzen 5 2400G vs 1600, 2600 & i5-8400

For everyone who cares, we are doing a follow up on the 8400's results.
We used a B360 from MSI, fastest RAM possible, confirmed temperatures were fine, confirmed the clocks on all 6 cores were fine, verified there was no other program influencing the benchmarks, and replicated all of the numbers across multiple runs, reboots, and various games.
The i5-8400 came out slower, with nothing inherently wrong with the system indicating why. There was no system changes between the Ryzen systems & the 8400, except CPU and mobo.
We'll follow up in a future video, but to anyone who says our results are wrong, please let us know HOW they are wrong, not just other people with different systems got different results.

Guys I was considering a low price built( without a GPU) as primarily for multitasking, slight vedio editing and very low gaming.....so which one would u recommend.....Any help would be appreciated ( I need to know the CPU n mobo )

I got the 2200g, then and RX 580, and next I'll wait for the old processor prices to drop and upgrade to whatever 1000/2000 series processor that makes the biggest bang for the buck, and turn the old 2200g into a media monster.

I'm waiting for the Zen+ 3400G to come out with a reasonably priced B550 motherboard.

The 2200G and 2400G has a reduced number of PCIe lanes available for expansion, as the internal GPU takes up a bunch of em. Something to consider.
The G series of Ryzen is good if one wants to start on the internal GPU and stay on it for a while, and perhaps upgrade later on. Or perhaps not even have a dedicated GPU at all.
But for a build where one will have a dedicated GPU from the start, it's like crippling oneself. I say: Use the G series where it's meant.

WAY cheaper than an I5 and about the same performance better or worse in some games. Close enough to be a great option for a back up because the APU blows intel HD graphics out the water...Yes perhaps the ryzen 1700 @ 179$ on prime currently is a way better value. For small emulation /media players with option* to upgrade its perfect. Apu's are amazing my old A6 7650 wtf stomps emulation better than the shield!! Cannot wait till Amd kills the mid range market soon with these amazing apu's. Once the reach 6-8 teraflops much of the game will be over on mid to low end which is much of the market.



For 350-450$ bucks you can make a gaming pc and play every game on steam at a decent frame rate... Can you do that with the Intel Nuc or shield??? Uber media players is what these apu's are but the 2400g paces the latest I5. Amazing micro itx builds!!!

I know that you're not an AMD fanboy, but this video definitely comes across as deliberately Red-teamish. The real fact is that you can accomplish most goals - games or otherwise - with any of these chips. AMD or Intel. The differences will MOSTLY be not noticeable without software to quantify things. Overthought is rampant in today's world. People tend to lose sight of the forest for the trees.

Microcenter here is blowing the 1600 for 60-80 dollars. At that price.. I couldn't help but grab it. I bought a motherboard that was marked for a cpu upgrade in the 3000 series and I couldn't be happier

My 1600 just pooped a week ago I ended up buying a 2400g wish I would have seen this video first. Guess I will buy a 2600 and make a home theatre box with the 2400g .

Picked up the R5 1600 for $80 at Microcenter today, came with a Gigabyte AM4 mATX board for $25 and 16GB of DDR4 for $75, looking forward to getting everything pieced together later after work.
