If anyone can figure out what the tune I’m shouting profanities to as I’m sliding down the hill I would love to know!
ОтветитьThis video was so stressfull
ОтветитьGreat channel Alex I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your channel from the informative tech stuff to your northern adventures. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьThis video was crazy! I did not think it would spin the van but whoa! That is some wind!
ОтветитьJeez Alex, that looked absolutely terrifying, especially being so close to the sea, and then with flying fire extinguishers. Your vids are definitely giving me a lot to consider for if ever I do a northern winter road trip.
ОтветитьBloody honningsvåg. It gets quite windy up here to be honest. Studded tires and an anchor is what you need.
ОтветитьYeah, the coastline of Norway, even in secluded fjords, during winter, is not to be thriffled with when it comes to winter storms. That one here was the residues of one we named Otto that originated further south.
ОтветитьYoy sure had absolutely and totally wrong tires in your van - not for slippery icy conditions at all. This is a fact from Finland
ОтветитьI say you are tough camping during this conditions . if you sometimes pass Vesterålen pls stop for a coffee or tea, i just
got a little nice farm there
This winter the blizzards have been worse than last winter. lorry's, trailers and RV`s blown of the roads . But i say you are tough camping during this conditions . if you pass Vesterålen pls stop for a coffee or tea
ОтветитьYou could not walk to the end of the car park to shut a container is nothing short of a moronic excuse. You have taken far more serious risks so cut out the BS excuses.
ОтветитьAfter watching how calm you were during the camper build i didn't think anything would be able to unsettle you! Must have been a scary time, I've had a couple of those myself but loved it afterwards! cant wait to get back to vanlife. did you see any LWB 2wd sprinters up there?
ОтветитьThat storm treated your van like a toy!!! Those van's aren't lightweight! Well they are but they aren't! Insane!
ОтветитьIs fwd or rwd?
Ответить🤦♂
ОтветитьA tip when parking in icy, snowy, windy, or weather-changing places: Put chains in front of one of both front and back-wheels, and drive up on them so you can drive or reverse out of the parkingspot when you leave.
The vehicle will stand still, even in the windyest condition.
Why are you swearing so much and why are you freaking out it's when you have a solution move your van you don't have to freak out like that you're not going to die all the swear words you don't need to be that's very inappropriate to put on the web like that you just sang the f word over and over again sorry I know this sounds mean but just trying to give you a little friendly advice cut down on the swearing and freaking out
Ответитьnear the sea in a storm, very smart LOL
ОтветитьLiving near the open ocean. The wind is unobstructed by building ahd trees so it's doesn't loose any energy. I thought the water was flooding. Any byproduct of all that energy. He very underestimate mother nature.
ОтветитьHad to laugh. Live in Norway myself... that sort of weather can be a bit of a frightener!😅
ОтветитьHonningsvåg, the sommer city. Somewhat ok in the summer, I always try to stay there as short as possible at winter.
ОтветитьNokian hakkapeliitta with studs, Made in Finland. Best tires for the kind of driving you've been doing last winter. Kind of a must.
ОтветитьHave you ever taken a driving course for winter driving on ice? It's highly recommended and something you have to pass when getting a driving license in Norway. There's a reason for that as you can see.
ОтветитьWe have a saying in Norway for how to stay safe, when you don't know the place. "Spør en kjentmann", meaning "Ask someone who knows the place". In your situation, that would mean; Stop inside the nearest city (Honningsvåg) and ask them where you should park your van for the night, and away from the wind. You're not a looser, just because you rely on other people. We all do in winter time here in Norway, because if you don't, you might not survive. Btw, don't ask for lower temperatures, when it's raining, that's what made it so icy in the first place.
ОтветитьWhy did you park there instead of near a building to block the wind like in a hurricane?
ОтветитьImpressive storm, very worrysome. I was once in a lighning storm on top of the Pyrenees once, and also had to drive my car to safety (into a tunnel). Must have seen 100+ lighning bolts strike around me, cracking rocks and blinding me. Tried to record it for inside the tunnel and even my phone was affected (despite being in the tunnel)!
ОтветитьFantastic video pal. You’ll have to tell us more when we see you next at Willow 👍
Ответитьdamn, what an adventure.
ОтветитьAmazing 👌👍
Ответить👍🤘
ОтветитьThis makes me want to head up that way even more. Great video
ОтветитьThat was a tricky storm.... And that with the icy underground, no verhicle control. Why not back into the tunnel and find a spot there?
ОтветитьStudded tires is the best choice when dealing with conditions like this. Been sliding around for close to 20 years up on 70° north so don`t ask me how I know LOL😂
ОтветитьGet some batter on your fish and chips it gives you muscles and curly hair .very handy in them conditions.
ОтветитьJesus, first camping video where someone doesn’t just start cooking something 😅
ОтветитьFoghorn cartoon sings doo da by de camptown races lol...as u were with the fu*# fuc* tune lol
ОтветитьMy goodness. Glad you are ok
ОтветитьSailing van life very 😎 cool lol ....
ОтветитьWinter tires ( or chains) and locker rear differential will work.
Enough weight in the back over the rear axle makes a difference to.
But watching you walk up that road would be just so entertaining for us I'll go on go do it just try a little bit
Ответить'chooses to park in the most exposed area he could find ' 🙄
ОтветитьJust imagine what the first inhabitants (Vikings)? went through…brutal 🥶 cold
Ответить😳😲😯😦😕😬 the different stages of my face expression while watching this
ОтветитьHello from Australia
ОтветитьGet off of that ice or put some spikes on! It’s treacherous!
ОтветитьMy flash, vehicles are perfect heat radiators all connected by fasteners, welds & glue. If you insulate to the ground to not let air under with a set of waterproof 'comforters' them to zip together, (I pattern, cut & sew) you'll toast out ...
I always had X-cables all 4-s for water ice, common where sun hits & no wind, close call.
Cheers 🍺
That really was scary. Glad you didn't get blown into the ocean, you probably wouldn't be here to tell about it. wow
ОтветитьWow hairy night in the artic circle in the coldest month of the year for a complete northern travel novice. The most rookie mistakes. What on earth made this dude think he could advice to anyone. Also unfortunately totally panicked at the beginning.. by a storm. Then drove too fast and nearly crashed. Lol oh my god, seemed to have very little common sense. Sorry by harsh comments but they are true.
ОтветитьYou are a joke
ОтветитьDude, what the hell are you talking about? Drive into that fabulous looking, warm town! You are just creating drama, fraud! Click bait
Ответить
