Very enlightening.....my opinion is there is no more secure way than in your own head......unless you have a photographic memory to remember the words for the seed phrase.... which is best written down in hard copy and stored safely. and possibly encrypted etc......the access to my bank account is far less than this and pin numbers for using a credit or debit card only have 4 numbers and the encryption strip on the card..........you could have a million dollars in your bank account and the only protection against unauthorized withdrawals is the daily limit on your account.

You got the Ledger issue exactly right. They got caught lying to us and their code isn't fully open, so we have no way of knowing if anything they've been telling us is true. Can't trust them. I feel sorry for people who are sticking with them out of pride. That's foolish, and dangerous.

I’ve always wanted a Ledger Nano X ever since i found out about them. Especially since i saw that Metro Boomin had one. I love their design and how they sell a version that is on a chain so you can wear your hardware wallet around your neck. I’m not experienced enough to determine if the whole scandal going on with Ledger is truly risky or dangerous but does anyone know a similar looking alternative to the Ledger Nano X because i look the USB look that they offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

At this point, though cold wallets are the best way to store crypto, nothing is safe. After Ledger, which WAS arguably the top cold storage wallet, nothing can really be trusted. You can have whatever cold wallet today, then next year some back door stuff happens, open source or not... best thing to do is diversify your funds/ wallets everything.. just in case.
