perhaps you should hear this program then watch?v=5nq3Q4tHvHY
ОтветитьThis has little to do with analog synthesizers, but it's very cool anyway! I just shared the video on my Facebook page.
ОтветитьWich osciloscope did you use? How did you connect it to DS? Because DS has quite a skeletal scope and it's fairly hard to explain waveforms with it, particulary after you modulate them.
ОтветитьYou can see the oscilloscope name on the screen! :) It's a VST plug-in, so I just patched it in after DreamStation.
ОтветитьStill don't quite understand. I never used computer for music much...
ОтветитьTHX for Sharing! Realy great Work!
ОтветитьSO TRUE! I bet with these quantum computers...once they get into the public hands...digital VSTs will sound better than analog synths. It really comes down to preference and budget. Screen with control surface or knob with box. $7000 or $100.
ОтветитьThank you!!! Great!
ОтветитьThis could have been a really excellent video, but i find the constant loud background music too distracting for me to be able to concentrate on whats being said. Shame.
ОтветитьPerfect video. Exactly what I was hoping to learn. Thank you very much, sir.
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьSuperb, comprehensive video.
ОтветитьWow! Lost all my faith in this video at the intro "song"... I'll give it a chance though
Ответить You are a designer of those machines. I am glad to learn it from you.
This is the first time I understood what a synthesizer does.
Thanks.
I could not learn it from those heavy rock or heavy metal people about samplers, synthesizers, and sequencers . Their knowledge is limited to what they play only.
ОтветитьSure miss the 80's and the synth sounds. I wish I had kept my jupiter 8 so easy to program. still have the MKS80.
But FM is bitch to program.
you changed my life!
thankyou!
Zebralett is a Great Virtual Synth FREE Software that is like a the analog synths. Great for learning.
ОтветитьThanks. Subbed. Great video
ОтветитьThanks. Very informative and clear video. And Dreamstation is very nice VA synth too.
*Who dislike this video?! People without ears, eyes and brain??? ...
P.S. RIP, Tomita-san, RIP, Mr Moog!
thanks very informative
ОтветитьGreat tutorial, thank you.
ОтветитьThat was so cool,, wish i had watched it earlier in life !!!
ОтветитьI bet the fist automated digital synth line was MIND BLOWING!
ОтветитьAll basic information..and more...all about analog synthesis incl. Thx
ОтветитьTHANKS! I needed to this. Very easy to follow along and took some notes. Portamento was just the thing I needed! Now I know what I'm looking for.
ОтветитьThank you for the great tutorial.
ОтветитьSuch a sweet video
ОтветитьNearly a decade later and I've found this video again. Thank you for setting me on the road to becoming a synth addict! I've now graduated with a Computer Science & Music Technology degree, coded my own granular softsynth, and have had many a synth come and go from my collection.
ОтветитьEthan Winer should be considered a national treasure for his generosity with his experience and knowledge. I learned everything I know about acoustic treatment from his articles. He's pragmatic, to-the-point, and always eschews unnecessarily expensive/trendy/fashionable equipment in favor of stuff that just works. I love the fact that he's using a modest soft-synth that (I think) came bundled with Sonar. He's great at being able to bring things down to earth like that.
ОтветитьEthan! Huge thumbs up and greetings from Hungary! (/Brian)
ОтветитьWanted to revisit my old DreamStation days, but sadly looks like the Audio Simulation site is now a spam site. Anyone know where I can still download the DreamStation VST?
Ответить“... oscillators permanently connected to the ADSR amplifier, which THEN goes to the filter ...”
What?!?
I hate presets they take the fun and I fear copywrite
ОтветитьExcellent. Thank you
ОтветитьI dig the backing track - very catchy!
ОтветитьExcellent. Good info, well-presented.
ОтветитьAll of these functions (filters, ADSR, wave shapes) remind me the „MOS6581” :-)
ОтветитьOH lord won't you materialise a Moog for me!
ОтветитьFinally a tutorial that gets straight to the point.
ОтветитьWhy do vst's from 10 years ago feel like they are are dashboards for space craft from a trillion years from the future?
ОтветитьTnank you for the good, concise tutorial for beginners.
ОтветитьTwenty minutes of pure gold, thank you sir!
ОтветитьStill good info in 2022
ОтветитьThank you immensely
