The other night wanted to try out my new low light video camera’s capabilities and decided to go into Philly to capture our Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial that honors 648 native sons.
Located at Spruce and Columbus Blvd at Penn’s Landing, the Memorial is an amphitheater with walls of polished, charcoal grey granite from Minnesota.
Last September this Memorial was desecrated by vandals with no reverence for those who have served their country. This is very evident at night, many broken light fixtures that illuminate the names and murals that make this a special place to visit.
Funds are still needed to help with much needed repairs. You can mail donations to PVVM, P.O. Box 29425, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Please indicate the contribution is to repair “vandalism.” Or At Venmo ~ pvvm1987
The Memorial is a 501(c)(3) organization.
