Это ружьё было эффективно вначале войны Германии с СССР, когда у немцев были легкие танки с небольшой бронёй, как только немцы стали выпускать средние и тяжёлые танки, так данное противотанковое ружьё стало абсолютно бесполезным на войне.

Great video thanks. I think the 14.5mm round was also used in AAA weapons and as a machine gun round might have been used for APC armament. Maybe even in aircraft. Some post war tanks had AA machine guns mounted on the commander's cupola. We called it the Darth Vader machine gun in the US Army.

Some PTRD's were used by Donbass militia in 2014 as they still can be effective against BTR or even BMP from the side.

I just remembered one thing. I used to be an RPG guy back in the day. We were supposed to change our position after each shot because if you are shooting at tanks with RPGs, that means you are fucked. Also, MG guys would move after a few belts, but can't remember their SOP.

Just so you all know this is decently accurate but very Farr from the actual combat on the eastern front 🙄 obviously this was a russian film 🎥 its got some biases . German tanks and infantry did not march at russian defenses 😂like mindless zombies. Germans uses tactics cover and move morters then infantry. They wouldnt be in a feild like ducks so thats wrong . The russian defense would not be that deadly ether atleast not the first trench 😂 im not taking sides i love russia and germany alot plus im American so my opinion isnt prejudice. The russians would have been taking wayyy more casualties...the german panzer 2 and 3 would not be taken out that easy ether there not tiger tanks! But they still have solid armor. Basically germans didnt take losses like this and not on this scale. Once germans passed the first 2 defensive soviet lines the 3rd would be defended ferociously. Russia had its machine guns AT guns and artillery in the back of the last trench as a final defensive measure. The depiction of the ptrs is absolutely perfect tho 👌 and the russian tank grenadiers very realistic 👏 in reality that russian trench would have thousands of rifleman and submachine gun teams with a heavy machine gun every 50 yards or so . German units would eat them alive for 2 days then when russian soldiers are on there last trench they bring everything up too stop the spear head. Wich is why there losses 📉 were so insane. The germans would have been unstoppable basically and they were.....for 4 years...

Props to the Soviet movie industry for trying way harder than hollywood to make their tanks look like German models.

It's more than a bit annoying that for the longest time any info about the PTRD and similar weapons made it a point to stress in triplicate how obsolete and useless they were because they couldn't penetrate a modern medium tanks armor, completely ignoring how many other vehicles on the battleground it was still effective against.

The 14.5mm round wasnt just effective against pz IVs but also against the panther. One of the main reasons for the Panther II project was the weak lower side armor of the Panther which was susceptible to light anti tank weapons including concentrated at rifle fire. The Panther II project was then canned when they realised that they could just add 10mm side skirts to protect the lower hull from at rifles.
