I can't get past the 6 and 9 numerals. They looks cartoonish, like something a 5th grader would have drawn. The right hand arc on the 9 doesn't seem smooth, it seems lumpy somehow. It just looks crude. Plus I would have liked the bezel to be polished, like the Explorer. Maybe I just want the Explorer.
ОтветитьMany have complained about the simplicity of the word Ranger and greenish lume. Many may not realized that the original vintage Ranger uses only “Ranger” and also uses greenish lume. This watch is a reflection of the original vintage Ranger just like the BB58 and BB54 uses the DNA of Tudor Submariner 1958 and 1954.
ОтветитьTeddy, you are my first stop in my journey for watch buying. Thank you for all of your shared knowledge, advice and opinions regarding all things horology.
ОтветитьThe San Martin ranger looks better..
ОтветитьBeautiful watch... Comparing this with the black bay pro GMT. The Ranger, when I tried it on, I found it to a perfect size on my wrist, easy to read with quick glances and the overall "package" felt more complete. The Pro felt more functional, where I can fully use it's design as opposed to the Rangers straight forward purpose. Any thoughts?
ОтветитьI own the 39 explorer still like this 😂
ОтветитьI personally wouldn't sell this watch as a "beginners" luxury watch. A "beginner" wants a deal of bling for their hard earned $3000. This is definitely not that! This is a specialist watch for those that want very comfortable wear, incredibly clear time, and a take every wear ability without being scared of theft or the odd scratch. The chamfering on the side and bubble sapphire lend a jewellery feel that's surprising. A top travellers watch, very well balanced, accurate movement, very comfortable, thin, small lug to lug and one that just gets worn an awful lot against the heavier, blingier and much more expensive pieces in my collection.
ОтветитьI get it, field, simple, legible, functional, heritage dial...but those adjectives don't necessarily mean ugly and boring just like this watch is. Would never buy it, if someone gives me this as a gift I would sell it right away. Personal subjective opinion. Have seen it in person and I sadly can't unsee it
ОтветитьIf they made one with a blue dial I think I'd buy it a lot sooner than I plan lol
ОтветитьI own one and will never sell it. Robust, legible and classy
ОтветитьI just got mine and I love it😊
ОтветитьIf it had raised indices instead of a printed dial painted on and if the Lume was white not yellow and it was in 36mm I'd be interested . This 39mm ranger is to big and cheap looking
ОтветитьJust bought one earlier today. Thanks for the review.
ОтветитьThe Tudor Ranger is so pure and simple, some watches have to much text on the dial.
ОтветитьI just bought one last week. It was our families first time on a cruise and I was also celebrating my 10 year anniversary of starting my own business. I could not possibly be any happier. It’s my first Tudor. I own several Omegas, a couple of Oris watches, some Hamilton’s (new and vintage), I also have some micro brands I learned about from your videos Ocean Crawler, Traska and Vaer. I am super impressed and in Love with the Ranger.
Ответитьlove it got one
ОтветитьI liked the slimmer bezel on the older version. Nice watch still.
ОтветитьTudor!!! Please make a 36mm ranger
ОтветитьI'm glad I've got the old heritage 41mm, that watch has got a LOT of character! Love the simplistic nature of this new one and would definitely buy it, but wouldn't upgrade to it.
Ответить36 mm and then we're talkin'
Ответитьplease try and pronounce tudor correctly .. its not hard its not too-door its chew-dor
ОтветитьI tried it on at my AD and took the plunge this evening. Thanks for the helpful review and great vid. I had been wanting a GMT and the current Tudor GMT and the BB Pro just didn’t lead to love on my 6.5” wrist but the Ranger did.
Ответитьget the san martin version for $225 its flawless!!!!
ОтветитьOne of the most considered reviews I've seen of this watch. I've got a heritage ranger and I can see pros and cons for both.still can't make my mind up.i still think both are a great alternative to a 1016 explorer if you want modern a modern alternative.
Ответить😍 love it 😍
ОтветитьGreat review, Teddy! I just got my Ranger on-bracelet and couldn’t be happier with it.
Really looking forward to putting this thing through its paces
Debating between this and the Hamilton Murph 38
ОтветитьWhat a boring piece. So boring I almost want to neck myself just looking at it.
ОтветитьI shit you not Tudor and Mido as so freaking boring and plain!!!
ОтветитьStill just don’t like how yellow the dial numbers look.
ОтветитьI really like the Ranger 39mm and the old 36mm without the date or with the date, I really like the numeral layout and the sizing of the numbers and the 3 6 9 layout over the other field watch layouts. You always do a great program Teddy.
ОтветитьThe build quality is probably amazing but the watch is underwhelming. Rather have a longines or hamilton.
ОтветитьI bought the watch because I like it and plan to wear it and not sell it.Explorer doesn’t Look like a explorer. Too shiny for the outdoors!
ОтветитьIs it likely a date version will follow, or would have been their way to release simultaneously, if it was to be?
ОтветитьI love it. But that price for that bland ass look? No thanks. Maybe a high quality replica lmao
ОтветитьThe only Rolex I ever wanted was the Rolex Explorer. But this Tudor Ranger looks far closer to the era of Explorer that I like than the current offerings from Rolex. Cheaper too... bonus.
ОтветитьBought it on the nylon, had a Forstner Type O to put it on. I really like this watch as an everyday wearer that is a bit under the radar. The lume longevity could be better but the vanilla color doesn’t have a heavy fautina vibe which is a plus in my book. Drilled lugs would have been welcome. It will be a keeper for me
ОтветитьIs it the exact same 39mm case as the BB58 or different and a coincidence?
ОтветитьI love these type of understated high quality watches.
ОтветитьRaised markers give the watch a more fancy look. I‘m glad the dial is printed…
I hope there will be a date version of this watch.
this is a brilliant watch, you will see that it will have many requests. it will silence all the Tudor haters.🤐😅
ОтветитьAnyone else getting tired of faux patina?
ОтветитьWill this bracelet or my bracelet off my bb Pro fit my bb gmt
ОтветитьDidn’t check below to see if someone asked , but wondering which watch Teddy was wearing in this video ?
Looked slender and seemed to have a great profile .
My guess would be from within the microbrands , a Halios divers from Vancouver , if I am not mistaken , or from a traditional one : a Longines divers of some sort ?
No it doesn’t need applied markers let’s just let one watch stay vintage and not have to “modernize”
ОтветитьThe only thing I’d change is put a rose on the dial
ОтветитьDoes it have a soul?
ОтветитьLooks like a winner.
ОтветитьThe slightly greenish numbers remind me of early Porsche 911 dash dials, and for that I like it!
ОтветитьAlmost great. The dial markings are all painted on and all the same color. If they would’ve applied the four numerals to given it some dimension. And put some red on it to match the seconds hand (maybe the shield or the word Ranger), this thing would really be poppin.
