I traded my long-time subscription of his channel for one of yours. He did a very surface-level analysis (what he's seen in movies) of America's so-called "gun culture" to push his narrative, and then passed it off as a documentary. I can no longer trust him to be objective. It's fine if he wants to be anti-gun, but I don't like it when someone actively tries to deceive me and others.
ОтветитьThank you, Colin you are such breath of fresh air.
ОтветитьI'm Swiss and I agree with your analysis. It's the same shit everywhere. Romanticizing other people's way of life to undermine your own. Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьThis honestly makes me sad normally this dude is so well researched and makes phenomenal content
ОтветитьI would love to invite this documentary maker out to a range day. It's the most chill time to have with friends. It is always safe and I pick my range friends carefully. I think he needs to experience real gun culture and not just getting misinformation online to insult Americans to foreign countries...
ОтветитьDammit Colion, you Did ir again, what a great video! Congrats!!! Greetings from Argentina!!
ОтветитьYeah, I really didn't like this guy's attitude regarding firearms.. It seems like those with limited intelligence always try to make sense out of why anyone would want to have a firearm... as if the inanimate object would make you into a psychopath.. But at the same time, this guy does talk about how he hears voices in his head, saying negative things about how he should think about himself.. So, perhaps this guy shouldn't have firearms... yet he is making this documentary... seems fitting, right? It just rubs me the wrong way... it would be like a 1950's republican dad doing a documentary on marijuana.
ОтветитьIt disgusts me that some Swiss look down on American gun culture. They will never understand what it feels like for their OWN GOVERNMENT to threaten their safety. Joe Biden just said they’d take us down with F-16’s.
Our current government does not want us to have them.
You have the most unique, poetic, and easy to listen to reading of that section I have ever heard. Gave a very clear view of what it’s saying despite the olde phraseology.
ОтветитьAnother great video packed full of Common Sense.!!!!!!
ОтветитьI heard a story, bout these guys that shot around in the woods...
They threw off the most powerful army at that time.
Who'da thunk it!
Let me tell ya somethin, Im from the woods! And I love it!!!❤USA
People in the US don't use their guns against their government, but in the street or at school. That's probably a big part of the problem...
ОтветитьHonestly, the approach as shown and explained by Johnny Harris makes more sense historically than what you are showing or trying to explain here (At least in regard to the historical point of view).
The way you present or understand it is not such an old interpretation. For much of American history, the interpretation has been in favor of the collective right (and not the individual)
In U.S. v. Miller 307 U.S. 174 (1939):In a unanimous ruling, the Court determined that there was no conflict between the Second Amendment and the regulation of firearms under the National Firearms Act. Justice James Clark McReynolds read the Court’s opinion from the bench, stating that “we construe the amendment as having relation to military service and we are unable to say that a sawed-off shotgun has any relation to the militia.” He further clarified the Court’s stance by stating that “certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment or that its use could contribute to the common defense.”
I'm aware of the following: Some argue that fundamental issues related to the case were never truly decided because the Supreme Court remanded the case to the federal district court for "further proceedings", which never took place. By the time of the Supreme Court decision, Miller had been killed, and since Layton made a plea bargain after the decision was handed down, there were no claimants left to continue legal proceedings. But nervertheless the ruling exists.
And that was actually still interpreted that way by the Supreme Court until 70 years later. Then came the D.C. v. Heller case. I realize that there were people who interpreted it differently before that, but the common court practice and the opinion of constitutional lawyers was more in line with what Johnny Harris described. I realize that I am "only" giving a rudimentary account of this, as the whole thing is ultimately much more complex. But once again, historically, Johnny Harris has presented it better.
And by the way, no, in Switzerland you are not allowed to shoot anyone in your own home.
The issue is not the guns. It’s the gun deaths.
ОтветитьThe big difference between these two countries is that in one there are 0 school massacres a year, and in the other let's say it already happened in the first 7 days of 2024. Something clearly needs to change.
Parkland and Las Vegas shooters bought their guns legally, and the Vegas guy had like 40 rifles in that hotel room ready to use to kill innocent people. gtf outta here with that "illegal guns" bs
Thank you for your refreshing perspective. Subscribed now.
ОтветитьThat guy knows that the documentary will slowly degrade the importance of the Second Amendment to the useful idiots
ОтветитьI'm Swiss and I would rather have American gun rights instead of more bullshit from the EU.
ОтветитьSo it's great if they train their citizens to safely and effectively handle firearms but I wonder what his opinion is on offering that kind of training to school teachers?
ОтветитьI enjoyed the documentary for about 10 minutes. I love all that Swiss stuff. Its fun to see people doing this stuff in other countries. However, yeah, the "journalist" is being manipulative. I wont be watching any more of his stuff.
ОтветитьI'm from Austria and I also think that there are to many guns in the USA. But I think that the root of the Problem is something different, its the crime rate. The murder rate ist 12 times that of Austria, so i completely understand that you guys feel unsafe. The school shootings are also not caused by the guns, but by the broken school system and social structur. I mean ours is also broken, but not that bad.
ОтветитьAnd you have a new subscriber. Thank you
ОтветитьThanks for making this video it needed to be made and you saved me a lot of work lol
Ответитьthere are a lot of responsible people in the United States but... Switzerland refuses to give weapons to delinquents, criminals, suicidal people, etc... and they only allow shooting in shooting ranges, not in the forest or freely, otherwise that's the prison, half of the population was armed look at the crime statistics the difference is here Switzerland does not give weapons when opening a bank account ^^ but the Americans love guns more than the Swiss it’s a reality it’s just individual responsibility that makes the difference
ОтветитьYou should invite him to have a conversation on your channel. I would love to see how he reacts to someone that knows what they are talking about.
ОтветитьThank you for your amazing insight to unweave this carefully constructed attempt to down play the second amendment ! The right to own a firearm is possibly the only real chance of surviving a violent home invasion or similar attack . Response times of most law enforcement agencies is well beyond the critical few minutes necessary to prevent personal injury or loss of life. The people pushing for gun control are not concerned with your safty ! They want population controle !!!!!!!!
ОтветитьYou should invite him on podcast destroy him lol
ОтветитьThe nicest, most professional, intelligent people I have met in my life has been at 3 Gun competitions in several states over over 5 years. Including the Army Marksmanship Team. You don’t have to go to Switzerland to experience a positive gun culture. We are not crazy people. I have watched this documentary in its entirety. I saw people using many so called “assault weapons” at the gun ranges in Switzerland so why are they not banning them?
ОтветитьI watched that video last night. I guess this is what makes it hard because everybody’s viewpoints are different but I didn’t see him necessarily attacking anything he was just showing the differences but I do agree he should visit gun clubs in America too to be fair.
ОтветитьColion is still brainwashed he always says that you have to be a legal gun owner which is full of crap... Or you can you can become a felon if you have a law that dicides.. Constitution is clear shall not be infringed,
Anyone convicted of any crime that is no longer in jail or prison is free... Shall not be infringed everybody wake up
Holy crud -- What a great presentation!! I had just watched the 38 minute Harris vid and then saw this. Colion did a great job of boiling Harris's down to its essential arguments, debunking it step by step along the way. OK Colion, I'm now subscribed. Keep em coming!
ОтветитьMan love your stuff
ОтветитьIf Johnny Harris isn't a CIA asset I'm a fucking kangaroo
ОтветитьI think your video is missing the point that Johnny is making. He's pointing out the differences in how the American public see's guns, which is a broader culture than gun enthusiasts that will go to competitions and such. Apparently in Switzerland, responsible gun use is forced onto everybody whereas in the US, only a small number of people that go to competitions etc. learn about guns and the responsibilities that come with them. The public has a very different opinion on guns than the enthusiasts and I imagine most of the shooters or whoever come from the public group and were never taught responsible gun use or surrounded by responsible gun culture. I think Johnny is trying to point out that Switzerland's public see's guns very differently than the American public.
ОтветитьThis guy makes me sick
ОтветитьNothing but love bro. Keep doing you boss. America needs you more now than ever
ОтветитьThe trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.
ОтветитьIt's hard to say. With the equipment the government has access to that the American people do not, would a militia comprised of civilians with civilian weapons be able to overthrow a tyrannical government with access to weapons that are so much more powerful?
ОтветитьHe is paid and funded by the WEF!
ОтветитьI enjoyed his video. He's definitely a light weight liberal. We need a documentary highlighting America's gun culture, shooting competition!
ОтветитьThis Johnny fellow seemed to believe that self-defense is anti-government.
That right there is the Left. You don't have a right to keep and bear arms, because you don't have a right to life.
I watched Harris' video and it reinforced my negative opinion of him as it was an obvious propaganda piece. As most of his crap is. What is alarming is people look to him for information and believe his shtick. Takeaway is legal requirement for every citizen to own a firearm in Switzerland= GOOD! Also the constitutional right to possess firearms in USA= BAAAD! I quit reading fiction as reality is so much more interesting
ОтветитьWhat really gets me about these anti-gun videos and standpoints is that they don't believe guns are meant to protect us from OUR gov. As if it's so crazy to fight for your freedom. And to read the 2A as if maybe they meant something other than what they just dealt with in 1775. You think the author WASN'T talking about the citizens fighting literally the most powerful empire at the time?
ОтветитьI give him credit for looking into Swiss gun culture. Seems he had a good opinion of it. When it came to US gun culture, he did 0 research and based all his opinions on his preconceived notions while he clearly has not had any interactions with the US 2A community. This guy was clearly interested in bashing the US 2A community by contrasting what he sees as a good gun culture.
ОтветитьI suggest you see it yourself. As much as people unfairly judge the US gun culture (largely as a result of your truly biased media on both sides), there does seem to be a clear dismissal of firearm culture in other countries by the US gun community, without understanding that gun culture is often an offshoot of the national culture. I'm not sure where this dismissal comes from, other than possibly some unease that it functions differently and still seems to work. Note: I was raised with firearms in the US - even as a young child - but now live in Switzerland and still participate in different types of firearm use.
Ответитьits not that deep
ОтветитьEvery video I've seen of Swiss ranges allow only prone and sometimes bench shooting. Definitely a different gun culture.
ОтветитьSo that's how they make Swiss cheese.
Ответить
